Family Fun 101

The Banana Split Edition

~ For my blog reader Trish, with love and endless gratitude ~

Okay friends, this post has gotta be quick because it’s Friday and Friday means one thing: Family Fun.

(Not to mention, a mom’s who not all distracted by blogging.)

(Just sayin’.)

When’s the last time you made banana splits? For me, they conjure up beloved trips to the Dairy Queen back in my hometown of Wahpeton, North Dakota. Banana Splits were the “big ticket” items–we only got those when they were on sale, which was rarely.

Much, much easier for this family of nine to buy the fixin’s at the store! You get more banana-flavored bang for your buck.

Banana Split I

Gosh, I love having the whole family together. It appeals to the overprotective mommy bear in me.

Banana Split II
Plus I get to have fun labeling the photos when we’re done.

This guy, though?
Banana Split IV

He got his banana split recycled.

Now get to the store and buy what you need…for sundaes, splits or whatever you want. And thank you again, Trish, for treating us! J

Whoa man! That would be dangerous in our house with a family of soon to be 5. I think what would happen is we'd make the sundaes and then clean up and then I would raid the toppings all night long!!!! At least I'd have a halfway decent excuse!

Margaret, you are a genius. We are in the process of packing up our house to move, I am 6 mo. pregnant, in a terrible mood and the kids are not really enjoying this day. Needless to say, this is a fabulous idea for tonight. Thanks. Oh and recycled food – ROFL!!
