How are you doing? Are you meeting your wellness goals this week?
I am not.
I am decidedly not not NOT.
(You can click over to see my scale if you want. Weight is up, motivation is down.)
And part of me, too, is wondering if I am doing any good by posting these photos. Certainly there’s–What would you call it?–a curiosity factor, as in, “What a curiosity that woman is, posting photos of her scale…”
In any case, I don’t want to make it all about the weight, (I’ve said this time and time again), and I certainly don’t want you to feel bad if what I’m posting looks like a good weight to you. We are all so different! So perhaps you could let me know where you want me to go with this series, or even if you want me to continue at all (emphasis mine).
Would you be willing to do a link-up? Would that be motivating and/or interesting? I thought perhaps we could use the “Weigh-In Wednesday” idea as a platform for even more than our weight. We could “weigh in” on other things–share ideas, offer encouragement.
I would like that. I’ll go first.
In posting photos of my bathroom floor, I noticed my tile grout looked fairly dingy. “Huh. Is that really the color that it should be?” As it turns out, it was not.
You’ll see I’ve been a fairly inconsistent homemaker–am, shall we say, far more interested in other pursuits than cleaning.
And yet…and yet…I love a clean home and aspire to such. Like eating right and exercising, it’s all about balance and blessings and peace.
A squirt of lemon juice and a paste of baking soda…
A couple of scrubs with an old toothbrush…
That was all it took and how good it looks!
Reaching my goal weight should be so easy.

I love this post….too funny! Of course, I'm noticing my grout now….I should clean ours, too.:).

Grace, your comment made me laugh out loud because now I find myself staring at grout ALL the time!
It's become an obsession–a sad, sad obsession.

In my next house… I want all the grout to be black from the get go! š

Just complained to my knight about the shower stall last night…I HATE HATE haTe, cleaning the tile, white with grout that refuses to stay clean!!
BTW, I started Sparkpeople as the suggestion of my daughter-inlaw. Sparkpeople.com is a FREE Weight-watcher-like program. I like it…however my motivation is low too.
Is there power in numbers?

I follow (quietly and inconsistently) – I noticed your lovely nail polish and didn't see your tile – ha, I usually look at the tiles! (sad…) You are right, we are all so different, weight wise. I am 5'4" and doubt I'll ever weigh what you do – but I am diligently working on getting off 55#! I am determined – but not blogging about it (or about anything atm) I am on a program of life – as I believe, for me – the inside must change with the weight – lest it not last (stay off) All the best!
God bless,
elizabeth

I would have commented sooner, but I had a major compulsion to clean my bathrooms.
I have BROWN grout it looks dirty even when it's clean. Bleh.
Anyway, my weight is down only slighthly since last weigh-in 141.
I'll still love you even if you stop blogging about your weight. As for me I still plan on losing these last 10+ pounds.
I must admit weigh-in Wed. has helped keep me more motivated than I would be otherwise.
Christine says
I like your weight thing you got going. Gets the ladies talking and ideas flowing. Keep it up!
That would be some dirty grout ya got there. I have dark grout ….thank goodness!

I love your Weigh in Wednesday. I weight in at our local Weight Watchers each Wednesday night so I would be in for a link up.
We just resumed meetings last night after a month break for Christmas and New Year. I am pleased to say that I have lost a further 300gms since my last weigh in on 21st Dec. Fancy getting through all that food and still being lighter than before.
I have been juicing fruit and vegetables each morning and enjoying the yummy taste of beetroot, carrot, celery, apple and orange. Yum! Give it a go!
And grout – hmmm, my kitchen grout is super grotty (floors are cleaned regularly but who gets down and scrubs grout each week?) so 'clean grout' goes on my list and I am giving you a Greenie point for using lemon and carb soda – much better for the environment!… and it obviously works a treat!
Cheers – Joolz

I am not looking for weight loss motivation specifically, but I could use some encouragement to step away from the oreos. Recipes are always fun, so if in your weight loss journey you come across some great healthy, and also family pleasing meals, let us know!

Just popping in to say, Joolz, I absolutely LOVE your Australian accent. š

How bad is it to clean a very large kitchen floor? I am not up for a tooth brush and hands and knees job; please tell me you wave the baking soda and lemon juice over the area and presto magic it's all done.

My motivation has also been down (hence not updating for a couple weeks). I like your updates.. it helps me feel there are others out there with me! š
Liking the link-up idea too. Ugh… don't even get me started on grout.. thanks to this post I've now been noticing mine all day. ;/ lol…
Michelle says
So, it's tomorrow night now…
Karen says
Well, that's why we have gray grout in our bathroom…
It is hard to stay motivated to lose weight, especially in the winter and also with lots of stress, if one is a stress eater…and I am!
Becky D. says
I'm with Michelle. UPDATE US PLEASE
Lori N from MN says
Like Michelle and Becky D., I'm reminding you that it's tomorrow night….. Are you actually going to wait until morning?!
So to reiterate: take that test, and update! š
Love ya!
