The Compromise

August 31, 2010 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Just Me, Minnesota Me 5 Comments

I told Jem to go outside and get some fresh air.

Jem on Deck

So he did.

Jem on Deck II

As you can see.

Also, why is there a clump of dirt on my deck?

Jem on Deck III

Can you come clean it up for me?

Finally, and for the record, I (too) will be taking my own advice and getting some of this “fresh air” that’s supposed to be so good for you—fresh air (found in abundance, I’m told, at the local park) along with Culver’s Butterfinger Pecan ice cream, because (don’t you know) it’s the very last day of August.

(I am shameless—shameless!—in my excuse-making.)

(Not that my children ever need one, ever.)

With love & blessings & a sigh that August is almost over,

When I tell (yell) everyone to get outside, Nicholas always, always says "Can I read on the deck?"

Yes, we are sad (I am sad) August is almost over. I wish June would start over.

Have some Culvers for me ok?

Wow, another post of yours that I can totally relate to in every aspect 🙂 For us it was Dairy Queen…if we've done nothing else this summer, we have at least overdosed on ice cream!
    God Bless.

I remember when my mom would tell us to get outside to get fresh air…I would take my book and sit on a swing in the backyard to read. So I completely relate to this!

Oh, yes, tomorrow is September somehow, isn't it???

    Sigh.

Looks like a Harry Potter book, an excellent excuse to keep reading!

I knew it was September 1 when I walked to get my weekly bagel and coffee and they had: 'baked apple' bagels, Pumpkin Spice coffee and pumpkin cream cheese!

It feels especially strange to have these seasonal marketing shifts when we still have temperatures in the 90s and (maybe) a hurricane on the way!
