11 Years Ago Today

May 31, 2010 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Minnesota Me, My Boys, Special Events 6 Comments

…it was also Memorial Day, and I was in a hospital in Newton, Mass. delivering my newborn bundle of baby boy!

Bday Boy II

Sigh. It seems like yesterday.

Happy Birthday, Jem!

You are everything we’d hoped for in a 2nd son—down-to-earth, responsible, and hilarious. With your brother away at school this past year, you have stepped up to the plate in ways unexpected and appreciated. We thank God for the gift of you!

Love,

Mom & Dad and all the Fam

Ed. Note: I have no idea who the midgets at the bottom of the photo are. I think perhaps they were sent by Kellogg’s and are here to thank me for my sudden patronage. Forgive me! When one is shopping for gifts at 11 p.m., one is forced to be creative.

My kids would be thrilled with a birthday gift that consists of cold cereal!! You were creative. Sometimes the simplest things make us the happiest. Happy Birthday to your 2nd and a Happy Memorial Day to the whole family. P.S. so good to see you this past weekend.

Happy Birthday, Gem! How exciting to get cereal. It's not like your mom hasn't been busy the last couple of days…Don't tell Ellie this, but I haven't even thought about a present for her!!!!

Does he really get to keep the cereal?
