Calling all (local) theater buffs!

June 18, 2009 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Minnesota Me, Special Events 7 Comments

Something Super is a play written by Lee Ann Hotovy and directed/produced locally by actor Jeremy Stanbary. (You’ve seen him, perhaps, in Lolek and Allesandro, as well as in “The Apostle of Common Sense” on EWTN.)

Joe, Jem and Cate took part in Jeremy’s Catholic Theater for Youth classes this past year, and now Joe is making his Twin Cities Debut (!) in Something Super.

It’s a fun play—a funny play—and I’d love to see you there.

“What happens when superheroes fail to overcome the ordinary problems of life?”

Find out the answer this weekend.

WHEN: Friday & Saturday, June 19th & 20th @ 7:00pm;
Sunday, June 20th @ 2:00pm

WHERE: Brady Educational Center (BEC) Auditorium, University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN

*ADVANCE TICKETS: $10/Adult & $5/Student

AT THE DOOR: $12/Adult & $6/Student

*Tickets can be purchased ahead of time by emailing me. I’ll be at all the performances.

AMDG,

Sounds like a lot of fun! I will ask my dh about attending on Friday night. Do you think there will be seats available that evening – as it is opening night? We really like Jeremy – my brother-in-law was the best man in Jeremy and Sara's recent wedding and they are such a great couple! God Bless and I hope to see you and your family there! – Marie

I do think there will be seats, Marie. I will be there from 5:00 on and could get your discounted tickets to you before the show. Certainly I'd love to meet you & your husband!

We're going to be out of town, so we wouldn't be able to attend, but I'm curious about the classes. I've never heard of them. Are they offered at St. Thomas? I have a 12 y.o. and 13 y.o. who might be interested. Is there a link with information you can post? Thanks!

The classes are held once a month from September through May at different locations throughout the Twin Cities. Here's the link.

That sounds fun! Wish I weren't in Houston, so I could come see. 🙂

Looks like fun – proud to say that I went to college with Jeremy and enjoyed many of his first performances. Wish we lived in Lincoln, still, to be able to participate in Lee Ann Hotovy's S.T.A.G.E.

My dh and my two oldest went to opening night last night. According to Eugene, the kids LOVED it!
