Future Tense

April 15, 2009 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Health & Wellness, Homeschooling, Minnesota Me, Pregnancy 29 Comments

We received an overdue notice on one of my son’s library books yesterday. I tend to forget about his account, finding it a big enough challenge to keep track of ours. (We are currently at a record low, with only 74 books checked out.)

And so wincing and gulping, I went to his online account to see the fees that he’d accumulated. $8.65, huh? Well, that’s not so bad. All of the books except one have been returned. This fine, though, is in need of paying.

Do I make him fork over the dough? I wondered. I mean, it is his card and all.

Then I saw that they weren’t all his, these books that he’d hung onto. In fact, I’m pretty sure that The Abs Diet for Women: the Six-Week Plan to Flatten your Belly and Firm Up your Body for Life was one that I’d requested.

I’ll pay that dollar-fifty fee myself.

The book, though, I won’t be needing.

8 Months!
Yet.

All for the greater glory of God, and in my case, I do mean greater,

Oh, you made me laugh, and I so needed that today! šŸ™‚

BTW, have you ever looked into http://www.libraryelf.com? It is great. We have cards from 4 different library systems, and it helps me to keep track of all books out, for everyone’s cards. You can even set it up to e-mail you at certain intervals to remind you of things. I’ve had it for about a year and a half now.

    Your picture looks wonderful!

I use Library Elf for my account, Kathy! Clearly I need to get Joe set up, as well.

Have I told you lately how cute you are? Well, you are cute.

About those late fees, I don’t let my kids use their library cards for precisely that reason.

Beautiful. Truly beautiful. A baby looks good on you, not that I ever doubted he or she would. Wish I could witness that joyful glow face to face.

That reminds me that I need to check online to see when my (re-newed 2x) books are due.

You look wonderful MARGARET. I agree, I don’t think you will need those books in the very near future.

i just read your top post and thought-i’d love to see a shot of baby in the tummy-and here it was!
and if you ever should want that silly ab diet book i have it and i don’t ever even think i’ve looked at. the fat lady doesn’t like me to read books like that. so i could send it to you =)
and congrats on your library fines being so low. i don’t even want to say out-loud how much we owe right now. i think they’ll be sending me to collections any day now…

    Hi Margaret

You’re my ‘international pregant lady’. I’ve been following your blog since before this pregnancy, having read about your sad losses then sharing your birthday joy and the gorgeous news that you were pregnant. I log on every day to see how my Minnesota Mom is doing. I get so much joy from reading about your dear family, your humour and of course, seeing your ever growing fat belly pictures. You’re a beautiful mama!

    Love – Joolz
