Labor Day, Quite Literally

September 1, 2008 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Family Fun, Hearth & Home, Homeschooling, Minnesota Me 8 Comments

So one of us is home working on our lesson plans and the rest of us are here.

(At least Ellie the dog stayed behind to keep me company. She is currently lying under the desk, licking my legs and making me feel, um, loved.)

Speaking of which.

I love my husband. He’s the best. I just wish that when I asked him if he’d take the kids someplace fun so that I could get some work done, he hadn’t taken me quite…so…literally.

Sigh.

I’m going to go eat a dish of ice cream now.

Ad Jesum per Mariam,

PS. Happy Labor Day. : )

Wow! Your husband is amazing… and incredibly brave… to take your kids there by himself!

Sorry you didn’t get to go, though! That looks like an incredibly fun place to visit!

(Man… first the fair, and now this? I think your children will nominate you both for best parents of the year award!)

WOW! what a sweetie. Put some chocolate on that icecream then go and walk the dog. when you have plenty of calcium and oxygen flowing thru your body, then you can tackle your to do list.

Does it help to know you aren’t working alone? We’re packing and preparing for our trip tomorrow.

As to your beloved taking the kids without you, well fair’s fair. 🙂

    ROFL!

    That is certainly “someplace fun”!

Is it too late for you to jump in the car and join them?

    Let’s put this into perspective:

Really, truly, it is Labor Day. The place will be PACKED! All those screaming, untrained kids. Elbow to elbow ppl. Lines, very very long lines. Whiny, stressed out kids because of alll the people and long lines. Do you REALLLY think it would be that much fun?

Or enjoy the peace and quiet. The enjoyment of ice cream without having to share. The feeling of accomplishment you will have when you get those LP’s done. And a dog. Licking your toes.

I vote for what you have today.

God Bless you all as you start you new school year.
