The Sweetest Thing

July 28, 2008 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Friends of the Heart, Gratitude, Hearth & Home, Minnesota Me, Motherhood 6 Comments

…about going away is coming home again.

There was no shortage of open arms and sticky floors to greet me, I’ll tell you. Even the dog was beside herself with lapping.

We are needed and we are loved, us moms.

I had much to do upon my return, not the least of which was convalescing. As such, I am behind on all things blogging…which I know you understand but still.

I felt compelled to post an “I’ll be back.”

I’ll be back with photos from the Family-Centered Learning conference, which was lovely.

I’ll be back with searing commentary about the antics of the speakers at the hotel.

Hee.

And I’ll be back with everything else I’ve promised, all in God’s good time.

Hee and hee and please be patient.

One of the best things about my return was finding a checklist made by Cate.

On it she had written:

  • Card
  • Poster
  • Bouquet
  • Watch for Mum
  • Wait Wait Wait

All of the items had been checked off except the last one. There always remains the waiting, don’t you think? We are always looking ahead to the next thing on our list.

Well, let us not neglect the here and now.

The sticky floors;

The happy dog;

The open arms especially.

Ad Jesum per Mariam,

    That picture is awesome! I’m still quite sad I missed the conference. I hope you feel better soon. God bless, Margaret!

    My family is fond of referencing a list I made when I was probably about Cate’s age of my plans for the next day. It included such gems as “get up”, “eat breakfast”, “bake challah”, and “write a novel”. Yes, “write a novel” was given, oh, about a 1-hour time slot… 😉
