Our Journey North

June 15, 2008 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Minnesota Me, Special Events 12 Comments

We’ve been away to my home state.

Our trip included, but was not limited to:

  • My niece’s wedding;

~The bride & groom ~
Are they not too cute?

  • On the same day as my nephew (and godson’s) 21st birthday;

My nephew and his sister, my niece.
(Do you like how I incorporate the “No duh!” factor into my posts?)

  • All on the same day as a massive downpour.

Was this beautiful double rainbow worth the tornado warnings that accompanied it?
I say yes, now that I know the outcome.

Other photographic highlights include:

  • A portrait (or two) of my daughters who are hamming it up for all it’s worth while coating their (former) church dresses with pollen;

  • And also a series of shots that I call “Waiting Waiting Waiting for the Wedding Dance to Begin.”

It did begin.

It was fun.

The end.

    Gorgeous photos – I can’t ever get a rainbow so clear – and the girls – so cute! And the boys – so funny! We missed ya!

    That girl is her mother’s daughter — and I don’t even need to tell you which one. She’s a real hoot! They’re all beauties though! Glad you had fun.

    What a fun weekend! I guess beauty runs in all branches of your family tree.
    You tell a story in pictures so well.

    It’s proof. Everyone in your family is very good looking. It must be in the genes! Glad your back and had such a great time!

    LOL! The hamming it up photos were hysterical. And the rainbows as beautiful as all the smiling faces. You do have such a lovely family!

    HI Margaret!
    It was great to see you and meet your hubby on Saturday night. I only wish it could have been longer and the kids could have played! (although mine were fresh from the tub – inside only activities after all that mud 🙂 You can come and visit this ND mom anytime!
    Glad to hear you were safe from the storms – it sure got scary there a few times with the sirens blaring as we snuggled up in the basement. We were busy praying to the Legions of Angels (esp. the ones in charge of weather!) You took a beautiful pic of that rainbow!
    Glad you enjoyed the wedding and your wonderful family. My brother went on and on about it and and how amazing your dad is. I agree!
    Hope you have successfully unpacked and gotten back into the swing of things. Let me know how you like the CHC lesson plans!

    Is your niece (not the bride, the other one pictured) aware of her striking resemblance to Jennifer Aniston?

    Your niece, the bride, has a striking resemblance to your little Angela!!

    Great pictures!! Glad you are safe from those nasty storms. We found ourselves in our basement on Sat night too, the siren is actually behind our backyard up on the hill! It’s loud, but nice to know right away. The kids were shaking though.

    Beautiful! Did you dance with your boys after that incredibly long wait??

    We were praying in the basement on Sat night, too. My hubby was gone fishing, so I had the kids sleep in the crawl space rather than carry sleeping littles up after the threat had passed.
