Granted, I lead a pretty sheltered life…

November 27, 2007 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Homeschooling, Minnesota Me, Motherhood, My Girls 5 Comments

…but hands down, the best part of my day today was when the three-year-old finally finally took a nap. (This process took approximately 45 minutes of effort on my part.)

Eventually the angry screams subsided, the wall that was getting kicked stopped thumping, and the closed door stayed…well, closed.

You can get a heck of a lot of schooling done in a two-hour stretch of time, you know.

You knew that, though. Right?

Well thanks be to God for all His blessings…big and small.

PS. And then how funny is it when they emerge from their room two hours later and ask, “Mommy, can I get up now?” They have no idea that they’ve been napping!

PPS. What’s wrong with leading a sheltered life?

Without a doubt, naptime is the happiest time of day! Nothing wrong with that at all!

Good for you! I am sure she needed it and you REALLY appreciated it 😉

My 2 year is is not cooperating with me in the nap department. Most days she goes down closer to the 1-1:30pm time (if she naps at all). School is usually over for us at that hour. I need to get ready to pick up the 2 that go to parochial school and then our daily swim team chaos begins(3:45-6pm).

It’s only when you no longer “need” a nap that you want that luxury of one. Why is that????

I could certainly take a nap daily. That would be so wonderful!

So glad she finally went down! And yes, it is amazing how much school can get done when the wee ones sleep. Sounds like she needed it. My three year old is starting to out grow hers and I’m just not accepting that right now, esp since she is the only one of the kids napping these days (David thinks naps are for girls…)
