“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ” is that force beyond ourselves by which God in His mercy makes the impossible come to be in our life.

I know that there’s a bumper sticker out there somewhere that reads: Start Seeing Miracles.
Or is it Miracles Happen?
Heck, I’m confused.
In any case, I do believe that God can take the difficulties of today and make them better. Beautiful, even! Our Lord’s disciples were overwhelmed by what they accomplished in His Name, as if they’d gone off to preach the Gospel with good intentions but didn’t really think that much would happen.
How very like us.
Today I am going to look for the miraculous. Perhaps I’ll even ask for one. Have you heard the story about Father Solanus Casey? A lady came by his office on a hot, hot day, bearing a tray of ice cream cones. He thanked her and put them in his desk drawer until “later,” a gesture she no doubt thought slightly odd and very wasteful.
A couple of hours later, a friend stopped by to express his gratitude to Father Casey. He had asked the good padre for his prayers before a surgery, and was healed on the way to the hospital. Saying something to the effect of “Our good God delights in the delights of His people,” Father Casey invited his friend to sit down for a treat—an ice cream cone, of course, that was as perfect as when it’d first been made.
Cool story, huh? I can’t remember where I read it but it wasn’t that long ago, so forgive me if I’m being redundant by quoting someone else’s blog.
Maybe an overhaul of my “mom brain” will be the first miracle on the list!
Have a blessed Sunday, everyone! Don’t work too hard! (if at all).

I love Father Solanus Casey!
Many, many years ago, my uncle–a Capuchin priest–lived with him!

Timely for me. May he transform my day with a sick little girl. How often i forget to pray for miracles. I tend to pray in human terms.
Thanks

Wow!! Father Solanus Casey is someone who I try to pray to for his intercession on behalf of my son. I’m still in the process of learning more about him. Thank you for the link.
