Not Much Pomp but Lots of Pride: Kindergarten Graduation 2007

June 7, 2007 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Minnesota Me, Special Events 8 Comments

Mass and chocolate muffins made up for the lack of cap and gown at this morning’s happy commencement. Representing a variety of home academies from across the Twin Cities were 8 outstanding young scholars, all of whom graduated with top honors.

When asked if he felt proud to be a kindergarten graduate, six-year-old Jack replied emphatically, “Yes, I thought I’d never be done!”

Many of the students credited their teachers (all present) with instilling in them a love of learning. They spoke with fondness of such favored subjects as handwriting and spelling, said a prayer of consecration to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts, and then politely excused themselves to go play.

Well done, good and faithful little servants! See you next year.

Ed. note: Contrary to appearances, the awesome priest in the photo above is not a midget padre, but rather a statuesque 6’5”. In the goodness of his heart, (and to show mercy for the 5’0” photographer) he knelt to be in the picture.

Congratulations! We have Abby’s Kindergarten graduation on Sunday. And I chuckled at the last comment as to why Father was kneeling. I forgot how tiny you are. LOL!

    How very sweet!

I was noticing the size of that priest … LOL!

What a great accomplishment for your smart little girl (and for Mommy too!).

    Very nice.

Thanks for clearing up the priest height issue. I thought he was Fr. Mini-Me!
