On the Feast of her Queenship: a Habits Overhaul

August 22, 2016 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: #StreamTeam, Whole30 23 Comments

Bloom Where You're Planted

I have had a perfectly wonderful 3-week break from blogging.

I do not say “a perfectly peaceful” 3-week break, because our family room still looks like this:

Renovation V

And I still have a 3-year-old whose idea of fun is this:

Freedom

And finally, I need to add to all the above the fact that our washing machine has been broken for the past month and so, no, not peaceful.

Not peaceful at all but wonderful? Yes.

North Shore II

North Shore III

North Shore IV

God is as good as good as always.

Now I need to get my blogging discipline back on, because I’ve so SO much that I want to share with you: helpful stuff like where to shop for low-priced, healthy food and what we’re doing for fun in our homeschool this fall.

(Hint: Pam Barnhill.)

(I love Pam Barnhill!)

We’ve got a couple reviews for the Netflix folks who, despite my taking extended breaks, continue to send me wonderful products in exchange for the reviews I’m not writing.

Beat Bugs I

Wait, what?

Like I said, I’ve got a lot that I want to share…in this space that’s been neglected because you know what? Life! And while I haven’t exactly had my blogging discipline on, I’ve been working hard on other habits and sweet Mother Mary has been a big, big help.

Thank you, Mary, for helping me make my daily rosary a priority! Seriously, I’ve started to crave my daily rosary.

I’ve also just finished my 2nd Whole30, with minimal cheating and maximum encouragement! I posted this photo on Instagram as a farewell:

2nd Whole30 Day 30

Everyone was like, phew! Finally she’ll stop posting picture of food.

(Except…sorry, guys! I’m starting another Whole30 in September. :-P)

Now I just need to figure out the particulars: the when’s and the why’s and the do-I-have-time’s? Granted, it’s been much easier posting quick blurbs on social media, but I think I’ll continue to work within this space, at least for the immediate future.

May I ask a favor from everyone who’s read this far? Could you please take the time to leave a quick comment and let me know one area that you’d like most for me to write about. Do you like the posts about habit formation & weight loss? How about depression? Homeschooling? Reviews? Something else?

Thank you in advance for helping me choose.

My time is limited and I’d love to know your thoughts!

Our violin teacher moved to Texas, Joseph! So we’re taking a break from violin until we find a new one.

Hi Margaret! I would love to hear more about habit formation and weight loss, as well as homeschooling. My husband just moved to St. Paul a couple of weeks ago, and my daughter and I will join him next year… so I’m also excited to hear your tips on where to find low-cost, healthy food in the area. God bless you!

Where to find healthy, affordable food, habit changing and weight loss are three areas I’d love your thoughts on. I may need to get on Instagram to see what you’ve been eating!

Margaret, I love reading your posts concerning homeschooling, family life, marriage, and depression. Personally, I am not as fond of the review posts or the posts on the weight loss/habits.

That which doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!

(And no wine for 30 days definitely made me stronger! 😉 )

Honestly, Margaret, I like anything you write about! You write about things we all struggle with and are challenged by, but you also include those snippets of joy. Just write and I will read!

I always enjoy your posts! My youngest is a junior in college, far away, so no longer have children around, so I love hearing about yours! Also, I struggle with food, anxiety, so love hearing about this as well.
