This will be just a brief meditation because I have got to start cleaning the garage.
See? It’s dusty. It’s cluttered. It’s crowded. It scares me.
How on earth will I be ready for a grad party? It’s only {gasp} ten days away!
That’s what HE thinks, anyway.
My six-year-old’s so not on a schedule, and neither is this kid…
…who is every bit as tyrannical as this picture suggests.

{Francis: “Mom! Put the paper DOWN!”}
He’s a Lion King Prince with a demanding roar, and without my three capable girls to help me, (they’re at camp this week and won’t be back ’til tonight), well, let’s just say I’ve needed my 16-year-old.
Sixteen! Jem turned 16 last Sunday!
I still haven’t made his birthday cake, thinking maybe I can postpone his growing up.
All this to say…
I’m trying hard to not be overwhelmed these days. I think–no, I know that you can relate, though certainly your circumstances are unique to you. Let’s be the mom (or dad) (or sister) (or friend) that we want people to MOST remember. You may not get to everything on your list today; I know *I* won’t, but it’ll be okay.
Get ‘er done is just not as important as…
Love ’em up...
Breathe…
And give it all to God. It’s true it’s true it’s totally true! Give it to Him and He’ll give it back to you, beautifully pressed and overflowing in great measure.
Happy Thursday! You got this! And so does God. 🙂

You DO have it! At first when I saw the garage thing, I thought you were planning on the party for this Saturday…Whew!! It's not til next week! You've GOT this!!
I pinned that exact pasta salad.
Can't wait to see pictures, lots of pictures. (of the food!) You know, for when it's my turn!

I'll do my best to take lots of pix for you, Jamie. It's the LEAST I can do in exchange for your prayers!

Hey! We're in the same boat! MY 3 girls are also at the same camp this week and my 15 yr. old son has been a huge help with my 3 youngest. No grad party coming up, but I'm packing for a week vacation. May you have great weather for your party and girls who come home eager to help!

That's so cool, Amy! I can't wait to hear their stories. : )

My girls are curious about your girls, Amy. You should shoot me an email and let me know their names.

This made me cry. Truly, it did. Because today (heck, this week!) has been really hard. I wanna throw my hands up, but instead I'm trying to keep plugging along. I'm a pregnant mama emotional mess because right now God's asked me to take on a lot that is tough. There's blooming where planted to be done and all that while growing another person plus keeping a bunch of others alive, well, as you know is rough. I've got this! With His grace. I just have to trust that I do.
ps…Maggie B Photography…is that your new branding? If so, I totally love it. I smiled when I read the name thinking "that's Margaret. That name is so cute and so Margaret." Perhaps you've watermarked with it before, but today it just stood out. Very cute.

Oh how I get it, sweetest Sarah. I wrote this post this morning with nothing but the glorious pre-dawn stillness to distract me. Last night, though, was a different story, when all I wanted was a clean kitchen and/or quiet boys and/or a body that wasn't just so darn TIRED!
There are ebbs and flows, peaks and valleys. Usually we just need to weather the storms and the quiet calm is close behind. And then we pray! Pray for the grace to withstand the next onslaught! : )
Thanks for the nod toward my "studio's" name. Yikes, such pressure! Yet, with three sets of Senior pix behind me, I think {gulp} it's time to be semi-professional.
