Daddy Update

June 13, 2013 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: George, Gratitude, Health & Wellness, Minnesota Me, Prayer 22 Comments

Two posts in one morning! I hope you’ll forgive me, but I need—need!—to give you a quick update on my dear daddy because he’s having surgery tomorrow. Please, please keep him in your prayers. Of all the options the team of doctors gave him—chemotherapy, radiation, surgery—this one is the fastest and (hopefully? Please God?) best option for my beloved papa.

Mom & Dad

For the record, he has breast cancer. The lump that was biopsied was taken from his left nipple and the surgery tomorrow will remove (hopefully? Please God?) the rest of the cancerous cells.

When the doctor told him the statistics—that “only one out of a hundred breast cancer patients are men”—my dad remarked, in his typically dry fashion, “Well, lucky me.”

Lucky us, I say. Every day that I have with my daddy’s a gift.

Please pray!

I am praying for your dad, Margaret! I meant to ask you about him on Tuesday, and I forgot. I am sorry! May the Divine Physician guide the surgeon's hand to remove ALL of the cancerous cells, and may the Lord bless your dad with a full recovery. May He give you and your family peace, as you place all your trust in Him.

Prayers for all of you, especially tomorrow – the octave day of the Feast of the Sacred Heart!
What a dear, dear Daddy. His 'lucky me' remark reminds me once again of mine. And wonderful picture!

PS. Also? I think your daddy must be pretty great to have given a gal like you "to" us.

I'm praying! My family will be hitting the road for vacation tomorrow. It's a long ride. Lots of time for multiple rosaries for your dad.

I will be praying for your dear Dad. You know I will be.:) I'll also ask for some special spiritual help from my "sources" up above that they watch over him tomorrow.:)

I am offering up sacrifices and prayers for your dad and will continue to do so as long as you need them. My 2nd cousin, Rob, was diagnosed with breast cancer at 59. That was 8 years ago and he's doing great. I pray that our Lord and his Blessed Mother also give your family peace and strength.
