Upcoming Events

May 7, 2012 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Family Fun, Homeschooling, Minnesota Me, Special Events, Spiritual Growth 9 Comments

It’s almost time for the annual Minnesota Catholic Home Education Conference! Have you reserved your spot yet? The deadline for pre-registration is this Wednesday, May 9th. After that, ticket prices go up by $10.00.

Here is a link to their registration page: MCHEC Registration.

Keynote Speaker Andrew Pudewa
Name that host couple! Name that key note speaker!
The winner will receive my old name tag.

The hu’band and I will be hosting again, which means that we get to be front and center to hear Marcel LeJeune. It also means that I get to buy a new dress! Right? (Please tell my husband that you agree. It will be more convincing coming from you.)

Here is the complete list of speakers: MCHEC Speakers

Here is a link to the vendor presentations and workshops schedule: MCHEC Workshops

And here are the related posts that I’ve written about this absolutely wonderful and inspiring event,  including (but not limited to) a photo of yours truly with Danielle Bean’s son giving me the stiff arm:

  • Can there ever be too many babies? (2007) This is the one with the photo of Danielle & me.
  • All in the Name of Good Reporting (2007) This one’s got a photo of me & Jim Weiss. I am nothing if not a shameless opportunist!
  • Minnesota Catholic Home Education Conference (2008 Edition) This one’s got another photo of me & Jim Weiss, and also Father Mitch Pacwa calling security on me.
  • Catholic Home Educator’s Unite (2010) Maureen Whitman, Dr. Ray Guarendi and more! Much more.

I hope to see you there!

Trying very hard to NOT be jealous!! We've just got the giant protestant one here, it's not bad, but would be so much better to have a comperable Catholic one!! Have fun!

You'd be surprised how many great dresses you can find at thrift stores (remember that limited budget thing). Have fun.

Our conference is May 18-19. First year, we're all very excited and a little stressed.
Marcel is from our neck of the woods, went to school with a few members of our committee. Aggies, Aggies, everywhere 🙂
Looks like a great conference in MN!!

    Hi Margaret!

I will be there! So, hopefully we will run into each other. I hope you are doing well … I keep meaning to email you, but I have had an eventful Spring, too, with a birthday-First Holy Communion weekend, followed by my goddaughter's FHC, and trying to figure out how to end this first year of homeschooling!

Congratulations on your son's Confirmation and your daughter's First Holy Communion! It is such a special, special time in their lives, and it brings such JOY to our families! What a GIFT our Faith is!!

    God bless you!
    Talk to you soon …

P.S. I *think* I know your son's confirmation sponsor! Not well or anything, but I know who he is! Small world, as always!

I'll be there! I'm going with a dear friend who also reads your blog. We'll be the early-30s moms with our babies and huge grins on our faces because we'll just have our babies, for a weekend, by ourselves, I'm positive you understand. Oh yeah, and we'll be excited for the conference too. 🙂

On a side note, I "saw" you at the 2010 conference, but I was afraid my "group" would leave me so I never stuck around to say "hi". But, I should have. So, I'll make sure to say, "hi" this time.

I'm excited to hear Marcel speak. We've lived in the same area as him, twice, and know several of the same people. However, I have to reintroduce myself to him every time I "meet" him, and remind him that we "know" each other. Funny stuff.

And a shameless plug for my dh because I'm just so stinkin' proud of the guy. The UWS (yes, we're from WI, but you'll still let us in won't you?) choir just premiered a piece that he wrote and I am so proud that I actually figured out how to post the video of it on my blog. If you have about 15 extra minutes, bop on over and watch it (he's the guy playing marimba). (www.frozenjonesfam.blogspot.com)

See you in a couple of weeks!
