The Flower Children Edition
Flower hair clips. Aren’t they sweet?
Here’s the thing. We have one short week until Angela makes her First Communion–one short week for her to master the concept of “transubstantiation.”
Um, yes. Have I mastered the concept of transubstantiation?
Still, she needs to know what it is, anyway–as per the definition in her book: “Transubstantiation is the miracle of the changing of the bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus by a Catholic priest.”
To help my visual learner remember the word, I thought we’d make a little wall-length mural.
Sort of…catches your eye when you walk in the room, doesn’t it? Big enough to help her remember, I hope.
(Oh, and the one right below it is only partially finished–a rainbow collage that I first saw over here.)
George insisted on doing his own mural.
He seemed pretty focused on his work.
Happy are those stolen moments where I can whip up some lunch and get it on the table.
Except I get distracted. Think about blog posts and stuff.
Real is a little boy with too many sisters:
The things he puts up with while his big brothers are at school!
(He absolutely despises all the attention, by the way.)
(I can tell.)
“Real” is also being humbled by your generous response to yesterday’s announcement. Thank you for being so welcoming to life. It makes it all the more easy when life get…hard.
(And please ignore that I screwed up the word order again.)

I noticed that the Dandelion King colors with his tongue out like a few of my boys do. Too funny!

I used to do that when I colored š

I thought the rainbow collage was some pictoral way of illustrating the definition of Transubstantian. I kept trying to figure it out, and was getting really frustrated with myself, but then I read the rest and was relieved to see it was a different project.

So I just got my computer up and running today after being without for a week. I am reading and am thinking what pregnant lady on the stool? What? CONGRATULATIONS!! I am so happy for your family. You will be in our prayers. Oh and I just love the picture of the dandelion king. I have three girls and then my 1.5 yr old is a little man. We can relate here.

Love the dandelion king! My husband is in deacon formation and once/month we attend Conception Abbey in Missouri (we live in Des Moines). One of the monks there mentioned he makes dandelion flower and mint tea. Guess I found a new use for all the dandelions in my yard — and maybe keep the code enforcement officer away from our home! š

Oh boy, did I stay away too long! Ditto Betsy above ; it was the "pregnant lady on the stool" thing so I had to scroll down and read more! Missed you. In my absent defense, though, I had a baby on Valentine's Day and she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, like a big brother. It's been . . .(the right word escapes me). Promise to visit more often!

Congratulations! You mentioned semi-recently that George was your last baby, and I wondered if that would really be true. Glad it's not! He is so adorable as the dandelion king!
