NiNi and Nana

November 3, 2011 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Gratitude, Minnesota Me, PrettyFunnyHappyReal, Toddler George 4 Comments

I thought about doing a {Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real} post today because I’ve got a ton of fun photos from this past weekend in North Dakota. I thought about doing {PHFR}, and then that same line of thinking led to…

“Nah.”

Because I am busy today—busy busy BUSY, I tell you!—keeping my 2-year-old mister out of trouble. Lately George is fond of Elmer’s Glue and chewing gum—the former for his hands and the latter for his mouth—and he is also getting very adept at uncapping the toothpaste.

Ask his sister how we know this.

It was her toothpaste.

“Look!” he said, ambling into my bedroom where the girls sat on the floor folding laundry and I sat in the easy chair reading out loud from a Felicity book.

My response was something to the effect of “What? Huh? Ack!”

Anyway, yes, he’s keeping me hopping—that is to say, when I’m not sitting there reading while his sisters fold laundry. And you see where that kind of laziness gets me.

Anyway, yes. Here is the would-have-been {happy} photo from today’s not-to-be {PHFR} post.

NiNi and Nana

Little George and his grandma Rita, taken this past Sunday at her 87th birthday party.

I love how his mouth is smudged with chocolate…

I love how she’s smiling down at him…

Strangely, I love the jar of candy corn in the background…

And I love how this photo’s full of people I love.

I don't know that I've ever seen as much love conveyed in a photo as I see in this one. Something to treasure always!

Funny, I had my eyes on that candy corn too! And your mother is just lovely. Happy birthday to her.
