Ripples

October 2, 2011 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Gratitude, Minnesota Me, Special Events 37 Comments

This couple:

Mom & Dad

Had these kids:

The Fam

Including her:

Mini Me

Who went on to marry him:

John

Who used to be:

Little John

And now is:

Berns Family Photo August 2011

And who is much loved by:

Maggie Moo

Who is very thankful for:

Mom & Dad

…because, well, they had her…45 years ago today.

(Yep, it’s true. As of today my age gets rounded up to 50.)

(I should have titled this post “Wrinkles.” )

Thank you, God, for the gift of life! Thank you for the “yes” that my mom and dad said…and thank you for all that it led to.

Happy birthday, dear lady! I can't believe you are not the first one I've said that to today. I was taking my sister to the train to run the TC Marathon (in honor of her beloved husband who died this year) and we met a beautiful lady, who today turned 83 today! And, this is her 53rd marathon. May God keep us all going like that! She reminded me a lot of you! Spunky, beautiful, sweet…must be the day!

Happy Birthday Avila, I mean Margaret! (thought it was Avila in the photo!)

You mean 40 was five whole years ago? Seems like yesterday you hit that milestone. Hope that doesn't mean 50 will come tomorrow!

Happy belated birthday! Evelyn asked me to pass along her thanks for her birthday gift as well. She's been very busy these days with 4th grade and all.

Are you sure that isn't Avila in that picture…and Anthony in the other one? Really, I can't get over the likeness. I wish I had some old pictures of myself to compare like that.

Lots of love…I'll try to have Evelyn write this week, we have a 3day school week.
