First, a disclaimer: I did not drink too much at yesterday’s birthday celebration. Are you kidding? I had a glass of champagne and a half a glass of Moscato.
I may be old but I am not a lightweight.
Still. I feel hungover.
Like, it was all really fun and I’m not ready to be done.
You can relate, I think? It’s that let-down feeling that you get the day after…when the guests have all gone and the wrapping paper’s been pitched and the Facebook comments have all stopped coming…and you’re like, really? Is that all there is?
I want more.
Well, of course that’s our old human heart talking… ‘cause we are made for so much more. One day every day will be a party…and on that eternal day, the feasting won’t stop.
I’ve tons to talk & blog about after this weekend, having packed it in over the course of three days—a trip to Cahill School for the kids on Friday, an American Heritage Girl ceremony on Saturday afternoon, an awesome & AMAZING Lifeline Mass on Saturday night..
So much to talk about (!) and yet, I’m SORRY.
It’ll all just have to wait.
(I’m a homeschooling mom, you see, and these kids of mine are expecting me to teach.)
(Or maybe not. They might like it if I didn’t.)
For today though, I leave you with a complimentary theme song:
For today…and for forever.

I had a glass of Moscato last night. I was celebrating with you. 🙂
PS A's expression is exactly the same as yours in the picture. Too cute. And that's a lovely cake.

Oh Barbara, the cake was so good. It was made by my friend Ruth Ann (NiNi's godmother).
