The First Day of School

So I lied when I said we were going to start school on Labor Day, because on Labor Day we were here.

Actually, I didn’t lie. I changed my mind, (which is my prerogative), having decided on Friday that I wanted to go home on Sunday.

Home as in my beloved hometown.

Home as in where my heart is.

Those boards are pieces of our kitchen floor because, really, is there a better time to begin reflooring?

I like to think that I became Mary to my inner Martha, choosing the better portion by going home.

Home is good!

I like being home.

Someone remembered an apple for the teacher!
Gotta love it when they schmooze.

So yes, we started today and I felt very rusty. Just ask my husband! I was all hand-wringy and self-doubty and way too way too over-caffeinated.

But we did it, and we all survived.

We made our way through and a good educational time was had by all.

Though I may have worked some of them just a bit too hard.

Happy September! Happy Back-to-School.

Good for you, Margaret! A visit to home is a field trip of sorts and a great way to start off the school year.

    Love the little apple girl!

Congratulations on homeschooling at all. And really, I doubt anyone could fail to be educated in such an impressive schoolroom.

Do the girls always dress up for school, or is that just their normal preference? They are so cute!

You're such a sweet Mom for putting a teddy in George's um, cone thingy!
