I am tempted to think that, in my Back-to-Back Birthdays post, I made you feel guilty with my reference to taking last-minute Christmas card photos.
That it’s only December 2nd, for heaven’s sake.
That there’s plenty of time to take this photo but now you feel More Pressure. Thanks a lot, Minnesota Mom!
Am I being ridiculous?
If so, I’m used to it.
But if, in truth, you felt a twinge of guilt, I’m sorry. Who needs extra Advent pressure? For the record, I have yet to order ours. For the record, I am using an old photo that isn’t even Christmas-y. For the record, our Christmas newsletter is often the last one you’ll receive.
Why? Because I’m me.
And I’m ridiculous. āŗ
So how’s your Advent going? In truth, mine is going really well! :

haha. This is how we get around our "always late" Christmas letter…..We put very boldy at the top…Merry Christmas Season… and under that we remind everyone that the Christmas season goes until the Baptism of the Lord. So…if your Christmas letter goes out sometime in the Christmas season, I say you're right on time. If it goes out during Advent you are early. How's that for relieving the pressure?

Margaret-
It is Dec 2. The professional photographer that I had a Groupon for will not return my emails or phone calls. I'm on my own for pictures. We can't do a family shot (long story) I'll take individuals or use good ones I already have and make a collage. I have one picture good enough to use. Out of 9. I have one present bought. For an immediate family of 11 and two sets of parents and an uncle that we buy for. I have about 6 ornaments done that I am giving away and started some homemade vanilla yesterday (that should have been started months ago to really be any good). Dh paid bills and I have $200 for the next two weeks. That will barely buy us enough food and gas. No presents. So I won't even really get started until Dec 15 (next pay day). I can take the pictures and get them set but can't order them. No presents will be bought, let alone wrapped or shipped until the 15th.
You are doing JUST fine.
Upside, we have no money for me to get distracted buying or decorating so I have plenty of time to keep making ornaments.

No guilt.
We started a tradtion of taking photos at the Cathedral's St. Nicholas' Day party. It is on the Sunday nearest St. Nicholas Day (usually Week 2 of Advent). We are sure to dress our darlings in cute Christmas attire and Dad wears a matching tie (usually red). Someone clicks a picture after mass of all of us and this goes on the card.
Works for us, so far that is! š
God Bless!

You shouldn't fret about getting those Christmas greetings out–it's not even the Christmas season yet!
