Seeing those pink rose-colored vestments at Mass this weekend did my heart and spirits no end of good. I cried, this time for joy.
We are halfway there!
As hard as the past four weeks have been—and I’ll tell you, it seems as if we Minnesotans have not had sun for all that time—they have been fruitful. If nothing else, I have seen the fruits of humility, whereby I have come to acknowledge just how little and lowly and pathetic I really am.
And I mean that in a good way.
Lots to talk about this week, including the continuation of my Lenten reflection in three parts. For now I just wanted to say…
Happy Laetere Sunday!
So we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. (2 Cor. 5:20)

Hang in there, Mags! Easter is coming! And I, for one, am happy to be able to comment to you today. 🙂

No rose-colored vestments for me. I stayed home with sick kids. But I did allow myself to have some pumpkin bread and lemon loaf and brownies that my sister brought home from Starbucks. And coming over here to comment. What a treat! We're getting there…. Easter will be here soon. And Dom told me today that if the kids keep sleeping as well as they have been I might get to go to the Easter vigil while he stays home. For the first time in four years! Woohoo!

We did NOT get pink vestments here! Now I feel cheated. 😉

Yeah for pink! It's been a trying Lent for me, too. I gave up Diet Coke, but that's not the cross, I won't drink it again. I am trying to give up yelling. I fall EVERY single day. Yesterday I yelled so hard my throat hurt. Perhaps, since I hadn't been using it much it broke from disuse? I don't think so…
Jenny says
No pink here, either.

My Faith and Family online reflection for today talked about Laetare Sunday, but when I got to church we had purple vestments, no mention of it, and no "Alleluias" in the readings or at Mass. (Is that the readings from Gaudete Sunday in Advent that has the Alleluias?) Even the Magnificat did not mention it. I honestly thought maybe it was a mistake, and it was next Sunday, so I am glad you posted. Now, off to eat some sweets….

No pink here either… but we did have sun today! In fact, except for this past entire week of yucky weather, we've had nothing but sun for a month! I love it – and all, yes ALL, or our snow is gone. (I was in your area last week, and you had much more snow than we. As I drove South, the snow cover increased tremendously!) I think you need to head North, my dear friend, and visit us this "early spring"! No snow Northwest of Duluth, and it isn't even mid-March yet! Amazing.
