7 Quick Takes Friday

February 12, 2010 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: 7 Quick Takes Friday, Minnesota Me 6 Comments

(Vol. XIII for Me)

I have exactly 20 minute to crank out this post before resuming my crazy-busy, hectic life. Can she do it? Place your bets!

~ Take 1 ~

This is one of the reasons why my life’s been so busy:

Jimmy Glover II
Jem (in character) as Jimmy Glover

When all else fails, blame it on your cute little newsie!

Two more performances, a cast party, and we’re done. For the record, I don’t for a minute regret our involvement with Anne of Green Gables. Six weeks of craziness is a small price to pay for the joy that Jem’s taken in being a part of this production.

Granted, he owes me big time.

~ Take 2 ~

Reason Number 2 that life’s been busy:

Tony Boy I
Look who’s discovered the bottom step!

Tony Boy II
And in this photo, he discovers gravity.

At that point I put the camera down. I’m not that mean a photographer.

~ Take 3 ~

Reason Number 3 why life’s been crazy busy is this little girl:

Vestiges of Youth

Not only is Felicity making her First Holy Communion in three months, she also had the audacity to come to me and confess that her top two teeth were loose. I am not ready for her top two teeth to be loose. I am not ready for those cute little baby teeth to be replaced by the ginormous horse teeth of adolescence.

I’m sorry but I speak the truth.

~ Take 4 ~

Snow and Ice
How’s the weather in your neck of the woods?

~ Take 5 ~

Guess what? It’s been 20 minutes! I’ m out of time!

I’m sorry, Jen. Please don’t disqualify me.

Breathlessly, I am,

Great post in only 20 minutes? Wow, you did very well. Loved this post, best wishes to your son on his performance (he looks great), happy teethless times ahead, and oh your sweet baby is so big now, so cute too.

I bet if you were talking you could've gotten all 7 quick takes in!:) Those were some great pics. Remember oh so well the 'steps' stage. High alert! Planning on seeing the play this Saturday. Great job getting 5 quick takes in 20. I never could do it. Ready for spring here—too! Lov'in the sunshine. Thanks for the windex tip—just might have to hunt down some spots to take care of–not that I will really need to hunt as all—they might just jump out at me. Also, maybe we'll see you at the play. Good luck, he definitely looked enthralled with that bottom step, he'll be back, over and over.
And about the weather my husband had a funny story, he was in Miami this week for a conference, all the locals were complaining about how "cold"(60's)it was! He and the guys from the Midwest were sitting pool side smoking cigars all night enjoying the "warm" weather.

I can't believe he is already trying to climb stairs. What a cutie. I say we all go south for a week or 2 months until this winter passes. My husband was in Miami a week ago and he informed me on Friday he has to go back again this week and then Vegas next week. He would never admit though that he has down time to smoke a cigar. My spouse claims he is on the go from the time he lands till the time he leaves to come home. Now I know he is full of it.

Little Brother has lost his top 2 teeth, and a big horse tooth is coming in to one of the spaces. I SO know what you mean about not being ready for those. But I have to say I am always charmed by the toothless grins of second-graders 🙂
