Physically: I got my sad, sorry you-know-what to Weight Watchers this morning for the first time in three weeks. Woo hoo! I’ve lost five pounds! I promptly went home and prepared a healthy breakfast of eggs & sautéed vegetables and wrote it all down in my little journal.
That’s the point of these weekly meetings. Accountability is a good thing.
Mentally: I saw a very fun idea in the current issue of Family Fun: a newspaper scavenger hunt! I went through this morning’s paper and wrote out several questions:
- What 2-year anniversary of a tragic event is being honored today?
- What’s the expected high temp today?
- How did the Twins do?
- What exciting system is being developed for blind people?
- Which famous former leader just died?
Do you know all the answers?
Emotionally: I just received Jenn’s darling fabric for the quilting bee I’m in. This means that I am now five squares behind (including my own) and am feeling considerable stress about being such a slacker. Pray for me…
Spiritually: …and I’ll pray for you, because if nothing else I am getting to Mass for First Saturday! I love the noon Mass option; it’s such a big blessing for a sleeper-inner family like mine.
Have a blessed weekend, everyone. As always, make it count.

I don't know any of the answers, for I am very sleepy. But I will comment to remind you that this "quilting bee" isn't exactly known for being punctual but is known for being exceedingly kind and joyful. And I will also remind you that you just had a baby, so don't be so hard on yourself.

Jenn beat me to it, but I'll echo what she said: you just had a baby so don't you dare beat up on yourself for being behind. It's about having fun, not staying on a schedule. And it's not like you're the only one that far behind, either. I'm down by three and am sure I'll get at least 5 behind before I catch up.

You are both absolutely right, Jenn and Melanie–joy is much more conducive to creativity than stress.

Oh, and the answer to Number 4, Ann, is "Learn to Drive." You got the rest of them!
