We are having an unseasonably cold August here in Minnesota.
It’s not fair.
But it’s true.
The temps were in the 50’s this evening and the girls were three shivering little bundles when they came in from the backyard. “Go run a bath, Cate,” I directed them, “And all of you hop in.”
When I stopped by ten minutes later, they were playing noisily. “How’s the water?” I smiled. “Nice and warm?”
Cate shook her head dramatically.
“Why not?” I asked. “Didn’t you run a nice warm bath?”
“I did,” Cate exclaimed, her brown eyes flashing. “But our bodies were like freezing ice cubes, Momma! Ice cubes in the tea!”
I rolled my eyes with a grin and turned to leave, but not before one last directive.
“You can blog that, Momma!”
And so I did.
