Bound for Glory

August 25, 2009 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Homeschooling, Minnesota Me 14 Comments

I first saw this idea at Cheryl’s blog, Time Really Does Fly, and I very nearly drove to Louisiana to give her a great big hug & kiss.

Bound for Glory!

That’s how happy she has made us.

If you’re a Seton curriculum user, I highly recommend getting your workbooks spiral bound. They lay open so nice and flat! I had these done at Office Max and used their in-house Educator’s Card to get a 15% discount. (Thank you for the heads’ up, Barbara!) I am pleased and the kids are pleased. They are itching to get at their beautiful new books.

It’s official.

We’re ready to be Back-to-School.

My friend, Emily, gave me this hint. It makes life sooooo much easier that these books lay flat.

Margaret, Margaret 🙂 You are too sweet! 🙂

Several years ago my oldest son ordered some piano books and the silly things would not stay open or stand up on the music stand…how dumb is that??? I took those books to my local Kwik Copy and had them bound to save our sanity. Same idea for the lovely Seton workbooks…a workbook just works so much better if it lies flat. 🙂

I may do this with my classroom books.
I love learning from the homeschool front.

I just love fellow homeschooling moms; we get so excited about our new books- there so pretty. Even the kids get so excited to see the UPS man and can't wait to go through the box. We're ready too but not ready; slowly but surely I will tackle all the school room.

just wondering…about how much would it cost to do this? I have six in Seton, and the little ones especially get frustrated with closing workbooks :o)

    Christi:

The cost at Office Max is $3.29 for books that are less than 181 pages, and $3.79 for books that are more.

    Use your 15% discount! 🙂

What a great idea! I use a lot of public domain texts that can be printed out and I have had the comb bindings put on them. I never thought to do it with these books, though! Thank you for sharing, Margaret! Oh, and please hug and kiss that baby for me.

It's nice to do this with cookbooks too. I need to do it to my copy of How To Cook Everything, since it's totally falling apart.
