Angelism #1
Granted, it wasn’t the best pick for family film night. We like movies set in Scotland, though, and that’s the main reason I chose it.
Alas, not even the winsome Scottish accents were enough to win over Angela.
“This movie’s boring,” she complained.
“There’s no such thing as a boring movie,” I replied evenly. “Only boring children.”
Angela paused, briefly, to consider that statement.
And then responded,
“I’m not boring.”
Angelism #2
The Little Sisters of the Poor were at Mass this weekend to take up the second collection. It is such a rare treat to see a sister in full habit, and their quiet witness never escapes the attention of most children.
Joining the rest of the family in the pew—she’s a dawdler, that one—Angela sidled over to me and proclaimed enthusiastically,
“Mommy! I found a nun!”
