Those are the closing words of a powerful video developed and promoted by the organization Catholics Come Home. According to their website, these videos were first aired in Phoenix during Lent of 2008. “For those who had fallen away from the practice of their faith, it lets them know that we want them to come home,” Phoenix Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted said.
Have you seen these commercials? I had neither seen them nor heard of this group until today, but wow. You may should go watch them here (scroll down below the intro) because they are well worth your time and consideration.
The first video, “Epic”, presents an excellent and beautifully photographed overview of the Catholic faith while the second, entitled “Movie”, brought me to tears. The idea of rewriting the script of our life—changing it for the better with the help of God’s grace—is incredibly encouraging. “No matter what you’ve done,” says the announcer, “There is good news, since Jesus came not to condemn the world but to save it.”
I also loved that they include a FAQ with both “Epic” and “Movie”. Every claim in “Epic” is documented and cross-linked! Very impressive. In fact, the whole website presents an excellent resource for Catholics and non-Catholics alike.
Got a question about The Faith? I am fairly certain that Catholics Come Home has the answer.
Ad Jesum per Mariam,
Ed. Note: Bishop Olmsted (mentioned above) is in the news these days for other reasons. His strongly worded letter to the president of Notre Dame is no small witness to what it means to speak out for life. In times like these, we need that.
