I sat in on Danielle’s online presentation yesterday at Homeschool Connections and I have to say, it was very cool and very fun. We got to watch a live video feed of Danielle, which was such a treat and she was as pretty as always (even wearing that dorky headset, wink wink) and we got to participate in a live chat at the same time.
Alicia was there. So was Mary Ellen. We did a fair share of teasing.
Every now and then, the moderator would toss a poll our way—with questions like “What is your biggest challenge as a homeschooler?” (The majority of us said, “Trying to be perfect”) and “What disrupts your school day the most?” (“Younger siblings” was the winner, though “bickering” came in a close second)—and then we would talk about it, with Danielle offering observations and tips.
It was a very upbeat, helpful, and encouraging hour and a half, especially since I’ve been struggling with a little bit—okay, a lot of winter burnout around here and needed just such a pick-me-up.
I highly recommend participating in one of the upcoming seminars, which you can read about here.
And for a mere $2.00, you can download Danielle’s presentation here.

Cool! I check out the Thrify Homeschooler blog quite often, and I see that this is where the author has her online seminars, too. I hadn’t had a chance to check her link before. When there’s a slow day (yeah, right!), I’ll have to give it a longer look.

Do you have to have video and audio on your end to participate or can you do it by phone?

Boy, I don't know if you could do it by phone, KC. I had access to both audio & video at my desktop computer at home, so that's what I used.
Helpful, aren't I? 🙂

Did you know we share the exact same due date? 🙂

Wah! I missed it. I feel like I missed the party. 🙁 My kids are sick (nasty stomach bug –actually me too) and I had signed up a week ahead of time! I keep trying to access it but it won’t let me. Walter’s trying to help though so I’m sure I’ll get to see it eventually.

Man, I have to check out one of those. I know we’re suffering from winter burnout here as well. I always think of you and am amazed that you endure many, many cold months in Minnesota. My hat is off to you my friend. 🙂
