Happy First Day of School, everyone!
(Oh, and in case you’re wondering about those multi-colored carrots, they are German schultütes and I schtöle the idea from Barbara.)
All for the Glory,
Live Blogging Update 1:
Schultüte cones make excellent dunce caps!
And megaphones!
And peg legs.
Live Blogging Update #2:
“Back to School” means lots of deep breathing.
“Back to School” means lots of distraction (theirs) and impatience (mine).
“Back to School” means lots of prayer.
We can do this! We can get back into a routine!
Live Blogging Update #3:
Ellie knows that it’s the first day of school. She is being exceedingly naughty.
(She’s having fun, but she’s being naughty.)
Final Update:
We did it. It’s 4:44 (according to my computer) but we did it.
Not perfectly but we did it.
Amen.
I’m going running.

Happy First Day of School to the teacher, too! Those look super cute. I feel guilty for not having done anything but just jump in feet first a few weeks ago. Oh well!: )
Jennifer says
I envy your children this morning. And you made me laugh.
minnesotamom says
Well, add some prayers to that envy, Jenn, because thus far it’s just been chaos. 🙂
[Gee, do you think all the sugar in those schultütes will help?]
Neuropoet says
Fun, fun!!!! 🙂 Hope you have a great First Day of School!

scmom (Barbara) says

OK, so I did it. I read Spirit Daily, I have loved Michael Brown ever since I read The Final Hour, that book really changed my life, I think I cried almost all the way through it. Anyway, I saw your story about the crying statue on there and have been reading your blog ever since. In the meanwhile, I have started reading a few other blogs, I’m told that’s how it starts. Well, I will leave comments here and there when something really strikes me, but have always felt that the relationship was very one sided as long as I don’t have my own blog. So, I just wanted you to know that I have done in, I now have a blog, I really didn’t know how to start at first, or who would be interested, but I feel that it is something that I should do. Yours is listed on my blog list and I just thought I would let you know. Thanks

Your cones turned out great!! I, too, had to go out for a “break” after daddy got home…I rarely do that, but really really needed to on the first day!!! Things went well, it’s just that schedule thing!
Ouiz says
I wish I had done something more “celebratory” for our first day!
I hope, in spite of the chaos, that overall it could be written down as a “good day.”
And I have to say, I love the way each child has his own personal space!

You’re an inspiration to newbie homeschoolers like myself.
God bless you!

I was wondering if the treats would have an effect on them!!
We’re MAYBE starting today (fevers in the house). And let me tell you, I’m going to adoration/confession/women’s group after. Three whole hours ALONE!
