- The kids & I are going to a play this afternoon, so I just checked our geeky homeschooling indoor/outdoor thermometer. The temperature is up a whopping 1 degree from yesterday and now rests at…2 degrees Fahrenheit. (That’s 2 degrees above zero, by the way. One must remain positive.)
- The coffee is obviously not working because it took me a full minute to remember how to spell farrenheit. Oops. I’ve already forgotten.
- When I sat down to make this morning’s meditation with my Magnificat, I read the following words by Pope Benedict: “Faith is not something we excogitate ourselves.” Here we go with those German words again.
- What else. My husband was out of town for three days and returned on Saturday evening. When he went downstairs to check his 180-gallon fish tank, he found 175 gallons (more or less) in a massive puddle on the floor. He was eerily calm when he came back upstairs, and told me that the skimmer had been left open (whatever that means). Notice how carefully I worded that last sentence. The skimmer had been left open. Mistakes were made. No fingers are being pointed.
- What else. Well, the Packers lost in overtime. Sigh. (What? You’re thinking I’m a Vikings fan? Guess again.)
- What else. My post on our church’s Sacramental Prep program remains half-finished because my sons keep hijacking our computer to play their Legos Star Wars video game. Sadly enough, I am willing to let them.
- What else. My husband beat me in The Settlers of Cataan yesterday afternoon–again–bringing my losing record up to 0-87. I am not proud of this fact but am not awake enough to care.
- Speaking of getting beat, did I mention that the Packers lost?
- And that the coffee just isn’t working?
- What else? There’s nothing else. (Are you just relieved to hear that?)
Happy Monday.
Happy Monday.
Happy Monday.
There now. I’m convinced.

We were also so sad about the Packers’ loss… Brett Favre is such an amazing professional, Catholic witness to the world. Here’s a great article I recently read that bolstered my view of him… http://www.catholic.org/hf/faith/story.php?id=25755
Pretty awesome! Poor Packers!!

That is a ton of water on the floor. Wow. Sorry about that. 🙁
It was about 10 degrees this morning, but my compter temp says it’s whopping 19 degrees now. Would you like to come up here to warm up? Bring your shorts. 😉 Have another cup of coffee. I always say if the first cup isn’t working, have another. Love you!

Let’s console one another in our football misery. Once the Cowboys were out, I was in fact supporting the Packers, the team I felt most worthy. And DUDE – it looked COLD during that game. I would have just flipped a coin and called it a day. Warm wishes from cold (but not THAT cold) Texas.

We’re bummed cheeseheads over here too, Maragaret! And I have to say that your losing record against your husband is identical to my cribbage record! We’ve recently borrowed the kids’ new Jenga game and I’m equally bad at that. Honestly, I don’t care though! I just enjoy spending the time together. 🙂
Happy Monday!

Ah, but Eli Manning now can tie his big brother Peyton in Super Bowl wins (at 1) if he can lead the Giants past New England!
Consider the Packers’ loss a sacrifice to bring an end to sibling rivalry.

Just a quick note to tell you that I often lose my computer to my Lego Star Wars fanatics also. Almost every day in fact! What is it about that game? My nephew is the same way.
Will you still be watching the SuperBowl even though the Packers won’t be playing? Our house is open! Oh, and we have a baby that needs holding!

Loved this post and your humor.
We do need our coffee, don’t we?!
Thanks, too, for visiting my blog today – hope you stop by again.
