- Cinnamon Cider simmering gently on the stove
- Two-dozen peanut butter cookies (minus the one that Mom just snitched) cooling “not fast enough” on the rack
- Snowflakes then rain then hail and then more rain falling (The snowflakes were by far the most romantic.)
- Amazing Grace (the movie) waiting patiently in the DVD player. (The theme is heavy but the lead actor’s quite cute. Not to be superficial or anything.)
- Kids upstairs playing Legos and house, according to gender
- Puppy in kennel, snoring
- Husband in field, hunting
- Wife at the computer, writing
What’s going on at your end?
Ad Jesum per Mariam,

Supper simmering on the stove, being supervised by husband. Kids playing somewhat nicely in the next room. Reading your beautiful blog. Wanting one of those peanut butter cookies. 😉
Paula in MN says
Venison sausage sizzling in broiler, kids playing with lincoln logs and tinker toys downstairs, both dogs barking, husband banging something in garage, ignoring the smell of your peanut butter cookies, watching the snow (heading your way!)

I’m making chili and baking bread for my sweetie.

Making up my Christmas shopping list. Checking it twice.Sipping some Sangria, missing my sweetheart.
And you are so right about Ioan Gruffudd, btw. I fell in love with him in Horatio Hornblower, and Amazing Grace is already on my Netflix queue.

Ladies, I always love hearing what you’re up to.
Jenn, I made chili tonight too! Son #1 had three servings, which more than made up for Daughter #4 who balked at the tomatoes and tried to get away with eating only the shredded cheddar I served as a topping.
Theresa, I had NO idea what you were talking about and thought perhaps you were speaking a foreign language. Then I looked at the DVD cover and sure enough, that’s his name. Who names their kid Ioan Gruffudd?!
Have a great week, everyone.

5 inches of snow fell last night, and more snow coming down now. I made something I hadn’t made in years- but everyone loved them- eggs in a basket. Put a slice of bread in muffin tin, so it crumples down to make a basket, put egg yolk in the basket, salt& pepper it, then beat the egg whites stiff and spoon over the top and bake. They are pretty and yummy.

What’s going on here? Just wishing I’d been there to share that cinnamon cider. 🙂

Elena and I went to see Bella. Talk about a cute lead. Oh my.
I was holding Charlie when I opened your blog this morning. He pointed to the picture and said, “Who is that girl?” I told him it was a little girl he had met last summer in Minnesota. He asked how old she was, and I told him three. He said, “She looks size four.”
So, you can tell sweet Angela that Charlie thinks she looks very mature from behind. Hopefully, in another 30 years, he’ll be saying the opposite. 🙂
(That is Angela, right? I just realized that it might be Felicity, in which case Charlie is right on the money.)
