I’m still here.

Would you be surprised if I said that all your advice about dog ownership has left me ruminating even more deeply than when I asked for your opinion?

And speaking of dog ownership, is it truly possible to own another living thing?

And if I start to love this creature after having “owned” it, will I need to set it free?

If I set it free will it come back to me?

Or will it just go tear up the neighbor’s garden?

You see where you’ve all left me.

Thanks a lot. ; )

We had a busy but happy weekend. We painted our new classroom upstairs and set up the teacher’s table (a big wooden behemoth from IKEA—it’s just awesome). Don’t tell any future guests of ours, but they’re about to lose their bedroom.

Just kidding. They can sleep on the table.

We also spent a lot of time with Grandma Cathy & Grandpa Doug before Grandma hopped a plane for Italy on Sunday night.

Was it something we said?

Was it the jalapeño poppers I served on Friday evening?

Angela’s first response to the jalapeño popper
that we served our guests on Friday evening

Angela’s second response to the jalapeño popper

Or does Grandma just have good taste in vacations?

And finally, we attended a totally fun back-to-school gala at the park with dozens of other families from our homeschool co-op. Are any of you home schooling parents getting the “What about socialization?” question on a daily basis? Bring your inquisitor to an event like this. We could not have been blessed with a better group of colleagues or a happier, healthier set of friends for our children.

I’m off to do the laundry that I ignored while doing all of the above.

Oh, and please stay tuned for the real response to the “Puppies by Paula” question. I reckon I’ll hammer away at that post in between the all the folding.

Sounds like an awesome weekend. How I wish there was a homeschool group like that up here. I thought the title of your post referred to all the rain you got last night. I can’t believe the news footage of the fairgrounds! Have a blessed day!

What color did you paint the school room? You know you will have to post pictures of that too, right? We are moving this week and I have a school room to paint, but have not decided on a color, or picked a table!!

Glad you had a great weekend!
Camille’s face is priceless!!! I can taste the popper just looking at the picture of her face!! My Clare ate a raw onion this weekend, but no funny face, she liked it! We all held our breath while she tasted…

Paula–no rain up here in St Cloud!

Jamie: We painted the classroom green–a happy, bright, great-thoughts-inspiring shade of green.

Oh, and what I didn’t mention re. Camille and the jalapeno popper is that she went on to eat three more!

Good for Camille! The first one is always the hottest 😉

I would love to paint the learning room, but ours was an addition placed over our 3 car garage and the dormers are rounded. That would mean that I would have to paint the walls and the ceiling the same color. Right now it is a boring shade of off white.

GREEN SOUNDS lovely and “productive” !

I’m just glad my mom didn’t have a camera handy the time she gave in to my incessant and imprudent demand for a grapefruit half…

I’d *never* life that face down. 🙂

But your brave girl kept on with the peppers–how wonderful!

Don’t worry: If you set your doggie free, it will always come back, because it knows exactly where it’s food dish is. 🙂

I was going to try to put a picture I got from someone via internet that shows a dog praying alongside a youngster kneeling beside a bed but can’t figure out how to get it over here. Anyway, may the Holy Spirit guide your decision about the puppy. I spent the weekend with your family as in reading all your blogs. They are great and so are you and your family.
