A friend of mine just sent us this photo. It was taken after Mass on Easter Sunday.
Isn’t Camille a hoot? : )
I am sharing it with you today (Good Shepherd Sunday) with an earnest reminder to keep each other’s families close in prayer.
God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Though your people walk in the valley of darkness,
No evil should they fear;
For they follow in faith the call of the shepherd
Whom you have sent for their hope and strength.
Attune our minds to the sound of his voice,
Lead our steps in the path he has shown,
That we may know the strength of his outstretched arm
And enjoy the light of your presence forever.
(from the Opening Prayer of today’s Mass)
I would add to the beauty and perfection of that prayer my own little contribution:
- That we revel in the beauty of this season and not get too caught up in our to-do’s to notice it;
- That all our First Communicants stay close to Our Lord and Our Lady throughout their lives; and
- That we all grow in love and holiness!
Have a blessed and beautiful Sunday, my friend. Enjoy the day!
