Overheard in the dressing room, where I was trying on a new skirt in the presence of my daughters:
“We would be just a crunchy little pretzel for a dragon,” reflected 6-year-old Maria. “But now Mommy,” and here she gave my stomach a playful pinch for emphasis, “is a nice juicy piece of meat.”
Isn’t that special?
