On the Feast of the Holy Innocents

December 28, 2006 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Gratitude, Minnesota Me 16 Comments

I’d like you to meet our little holy innocent!

Isn’t he/she cute?

To see that tiny heart chugging away yesterday did my mommy’s heart much good. The only “problem” at this point is that my estimated due date seems off. Those clever technicians! How did they know that I fudged on the “first day of my last menstrual cycle?” (And I’m usually so good about writing that stuff down. Alas, not last October…)

Not that it really matters in the end. The baby will come when the baby comes.

Though picking a good feast day for his/her arrival never hurts! ; )

In the Christ Child, we see foreshadowed the suffering Savior. In the murdered children of Bethlehem, first of many martyrs, we see foreshadowed the futile effort of the power of sin and death to destroy the true power that will bring it to destruction, though that power lies hidden in a child.

(from Magnificat magazine)

Have a blessed feast!

Sue asks: So what is your due date?

I had been telling people August 6th (Feast of the Transfiguration) but the ultrasound pushed it back a week—to August 15th! (The Feast of the Assumption is one of my very favorites.)

I’m at about 7 weeks 2 days, according to the ultrasound.

PS. Kristen, I love the picture!
