Or in some cases, the Most Notorious
- Favorite moment from our church’s Christmas Eve Nativity Play: the camel that stopped to graze on the bald man’s head. No, Virginia, it was not a real camel.
- Favorite new dish added to Christmas menu (in Mommy’s opinion but definitely not the children’s): mushroom casserole.
- Most Stressful Moment 1: My late-night Christmas Eve meltdown. (You can ask my husband about that one. Let’s just say it involved a can of crushed pineapple and a box of lemon jello being thrown with considerable force. Thrown by whom? Ah, that’s the question.)
- Most Stressful Moment 2: when our Christmas Day dinner guests called at noon and said they would be arriving at 2:15. I had planned on serving dinner at 1:00.
- Biggest A-Ha Moment: Realizing that, as always, everything would turn out just fine in the end.
- Proudest Moment: Listening to the kids recite their Christmas poems for Grandma & Grandpa.
- Most Sheepish Moment: Giving Grandma her homemade Christmas gift, which at that point (and at this one) was just a pile of supplies.
- Most decadent dessert (and therefore everybody’s favorite): pumpkin cheesecake.
- The sweets that disappeared the fastest from the cookie tray: the Santa’s Surprises and the peppermint bark.
- Hit Christmas gift of the year: DDR. If you have to ask, you’re so not cool. (PS. I was so not cool.) Thank you, Auntie Megan!
- Biggest Mental Challenge #1: sitting through Night at the Museum with my sons on Stephen’s name day. (Being little boys, they loved it. And that was the whole point.)
- Biggest Mental Challenge #2: playing the mind-numbing game Candy Land with my daughter. (Being 4, she loves it. And that, too, is the whole point.)
- Naughtiest Moment: when Daughter #1 did all of the stickers in Daughter #2’s new book.
- Most Excruciatingly Difficult Moment (for the children): Being told that we were saving some of the presents to open later.
- Most Guilt-Ridden Moment (for Mommy): not writing a lengthy, personal message on all 125 Christmas cards. If you’re reading this, mea culpa! Know that you are loved!
- Wish-I-could-have-been-there Moment #1: When my friend got home from the grocery store and saw what she’d been charged for that gorgeous standing rib roast. Tina, I’ll never tell if you won’t!
- Wish-I-could-have-been-there Moment #2: At my mom & dad’s as well as with John’s family on Christmas Day. Oh, to be a saint and bi-locate!*
- And the Number One Christmas Gift for Mommy: each & every chance to die to self! Oh, to be transformed in Christ!*

I loved reading your list. I laughed out loud at your most sheepish moment. I too am not so cool, but I did recognize the DDR when I went to the link.

Sounds like a Christmas packed with memories. I checked out the DDR (not so cool myself) and I htink maybe there is a form of exercise I might like after all!
Also I loved your tale of pg tests. How exciting! I can totally relate, being addicted to pg tests myself.

My one and only time I forcefully threw something across the room was early in pregnancy #1 – hot rollers at my husband.
This was a great list, Margaret!

What a fun list! I am so not cool. I loved the naughty moment. Whoops… I am sure she didn’t really mean to do that!
Can you believe we might see some snow soon here in MN!
Blessings,

These pictures are too much. You are all beautiful, and those girls are like the cover of a magazine!
