How (and WHY) I’ve been Reading MORE

May 25, 2016 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Reviews Leave a Comment

HINT: It involves Well Read Mom and Read More Books Now.

When it comes to reading for pleasure, there are three things I can say unequivocally:

  1. I really don’t have time to read.
  2. Joining the Well Read Mom book club and consequently reading—and finishing!—books like The Odyssey, Anna Karenina and Giants in the Earth has been one of the very best things for my head and my heart.
  3. I really don’t have time to read.

All that said…

I was super excited to see Brandon Vogt’s Read More Books Now video course pop up in my feed! SUPER excited, as in, I clicked over instantly and hit “Pay Now.”

Read More Books Now

(Okay, that wasn’t exactly how it went.)

(Actually, I reached out to Brandon and asked if I could do a review, because…you know…planes to catch and bills to pay.)

(Minus the planes to catch, alas.)

(He said yes and signed me up. Thank you thank you thank you,  Brandon!)

I’ve been a big fan of Brandon Vogt (pronounced “Vot”) for ages. He had me at his The Saints’ Favorite Books and kept me with those winsome dimples. I’m sorry, Brandon, but once a mom always a mom! Plus his writing is just so relevant. His tagline is “Timeless Truths, New Media” and to that I say, Amen brother!

New media is not going away. We need to embrace it without letting it own us.

That’s where this video course comes in. It’s a ten-part series that gives you the resources you need to become a better reader. Here’s the catch: Registration closes tomorrow.

I’m sorry I’m not giving you more time to decide! I’m assuming, though, that there are some spontaneous folks who need a shot in the arm—folks like me that click “Pay Now” because they know their investment will pay off in the end.

Is it worth the cost of the investment? That I cannot answer for you, because the $97 price tag is a bit hefty. The big question is: How badly do you want to change?

Because investing in this course could make all the difference.

Plus he’s offering a very generous 30-day guarantee, where you only pay if you think it’s worth it. That’s quite an offer, don’t you think? Conversely, you could pay up front and save $30 right then and there.

It’s up to you but the question remains:  Do you want to read more books?

This mom-of-seven gets that it’s hard and that we have far too many demands on God’s precious gift of time. In fact, whenever my kids ask to play their time (a reference to their daily 1/2 hour on the computer) I look at them pointedly until they say, “I mean, God’s time!” Because at the end of the day, it’s all a gift and what do we want to  have accomplished?

Says the gal who’s addicted to Candy Crush and who’s a member of the Netflix #StreamTeam.

Hey, we all have our dragons that we need to vanquish!

In her best-selling book Better Than Before, Gretchen Rubin refers to a “lightning bolt” moment when you’re moved justlikethat to sudden change. For example, my friend Sarah gave me a Vivofit 2 and suddenly I’m walking 12,000 steps a day! That, my friend, is a lightning bolt moment…but it also means, when do I fit in reading now?

Audio books on the iPod? Perhaps. Books on Audible when I’m driving? Definitely! I’ve started buying all the WRM books on Audible and that’s another way I fit them in.

Hey, I’m gonna make it work.  I have to, because I like who I am when I’m reading good books.

Well Read Mom

So go now in haste and check out the Read More Books Now course!  Tell him Minnesota Mom sent you, and that she says thank you with all her heart. ♥
