I took these photos on Monday morning.
I took them because I liked the light. I took them because these kids are cute. I took them because I might one day need blackmail.
Just ask my teen-aged sons about this.
I took them because I’m in “survival mode” these days, but if I pause now and then to just focus on the moment…not forgetting, of course, to breathe and be thankful…then I remember that, really, it all goes so fast.
Yes, there is mess and a fair share of chaos. I deal with the worst of it in 15-minute increments–because we can tackle anything if it’s just 15 minutes–and then I sit on the floor with the 4-year-old or slather some lotion on those sweet little buns.
One day my nest will be clean but empty. For now…
Those dimpled hands, that grin, those buns. These are the things that remind me to breathe.

So very true! And those buns are so adorable!

Amen! One of the things that I noticed was the hair color difference. Wow! Do your children all start out blond then turn dark? They are so cute…buns, dimples, and all!

Black mail pics…just thought of this. So being one of nine, I had the pleasure of being my youngest brothers 8th grade teacher. Ha ha! When he would act up in my class, I threatened (every chance I got) to whip out an embarrassing photo of his dimpled bum 😉

I know, Patty! Isn't that hair color difference crazy? That's why we call Francis the milk man's son. : )

Or maybe UPS, since he was born at Christmas.

Oh, those boys! So sweet.
Prayers for you sweet friend, that your days are filled with lots of joy amidst the noise and mess!

Survival mode describes pretty much the whole of last year for me. Thanks for the reminder…it still hasn't sunk in that it's short lived, though.

Aww, those pictures are so precious. Praying you have a wonderful day today.

That baby looks just like his sister, not the milk man!
Those moments do go quickly, but I understand you must be exhausted. You will wear a gloriously jeweled crown in heaven, my dear.
And the nest will never be empty, just think about all the grandchildren. 🙂 And you can give them back to their parents when you're tired.

All I can think when I see these pictures is this: "how does her tub look so clean?!?!" My tub is . . . not that shiny. Because I, too, am in survival mode. 🙂
Those boys (and the buns) are very cute!

Cute pictures, but you might want to seriously reconsider having them on the Internet for anyone to grab and use as they please. 🙁

That's true about any photo, though, isn't it? I've thought about all this before and it's always come down to: Do I post photos of the kids or not? Some people don't post pictures ever, but…
I don't know. I've just always trusted my heart that these innocent photos would be okay. It's just a baby bottom, after all!
What do the rest of you think? I'd love to hear.

Great question. I have thought about this a lot and decided awhile back that I would not post any pics of my daughter naked or half-naked on facebook, my blog, etc. This includes bathing pictures, videos. Oh, I have the cutest video of her in the bathtub when she was about 13 months old and I went to post it on fb, but then stopped myself. I just didn't want to take any chance. Yes, could some cute picture of her fully clothed end up in the hands of someone nefarious, of course. But then I would have to stop posting any picture and I am not comfortable with that as well. And also, my thought is anything that is posted on the internet is therefore permanent in some form or another and I wonder if she would be embarrassed in years to come about what I posted. Anyway, just my $0.02 and as Danielle Bean said a long time ago, but it has always stuck with me "Do what is right for your family. And that differs from family to family." The end. 🙂

Adorable innocent photos. You are a great mom. Trust your instincts!

First I have to say, "Awwwwwwwwwww" We do daytime baths too..because we are all in some kind of survival mode, right? And by bedtime, or nighttime, I have no more patience to enjoy that moment!
I thought the same thing, that those boys look like their older siblings, blondes, like the blondes and brunettes alike also!
So very cute.
And fun.
Innocent pics.
I know some people copyright their photos…maybe that is what should be done…not sure if that would help your dilemma or not.
Our world is going faster and faster….I even 2nd guess not using their real names…it's to please my husband, but does it even matter anymore? The world has gone on. And gone onto other things…

OK, I've been thinking about this since you posted and you know I tend far in the other direction… To me it boils down to: If my child could give consent, would he or she OK the posting of a particular photo. Until they can give consent, I keep it offline. IMO, it's about respecting the child as a whole person. Some people would be fine with their bums online, some not. (Can we still be friends? 😉 )

Adorable! Bath time when they are little is so special. <3
