I’m standing at the computer reading.
(If I stand, I can pretend that I’m not spending time standing at the computer, reading.)
Felicity pokes a concerned head around the corner. “Mom, did you say NiNi could…”
I go charging down the hallway to investigate, firsthand, the havoc that my 2-year-old’s wrought.
I find…
“Dat?” he says.
“Oh, that,” I reply. “That’s fine.” And I leave him there, messy but safe, with his hands in the flour canister and a big grin on his face.
He could be doing much worse things on a Friday night.
For now, he’s two.
And I thank God for it.

You are so much more laid back than I am! And you even thought to take a picture. Impressive. I need to say, "Oh, that. That's fine" more often to my two year old. Although I am progressing because I am much more laid back with number three than I was with number one.
Love your flour canister, by the way.

I am also diggin' that flour canister! Wherever did you find it?

Ha! I've had those canisters since my college days–a gift from my older sister who didn't think they fit in her kitchen.
Maybe I'll do a post sometime titled "These are a few of our favorite kitchen things…"

Ha! Pick your battles, right? 😉 My goodness that little boy makes my heart all melty.
Happy weekend!

Too funny! I have to say the I noticed the canister too. It is so cute. I also let my 2 year old do things that I would probably never would have let the other ones do as long as she is not getting hurt, or hurting someone else.

I used to have that flour canister! I had the rest of the set too. But my then 2 year old got them once during a move once…and they were stepped upon and destroyed. Sigh. Oh well. I do miss them though.
