“I am the Immaculate Conception.”

December 8, 2011 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Living Liturgically, Marriage, Minnesota Me, Spiritual Growth 8 Comments

I am posting something on this beautiful & holy feast for two reasons: one, it is a beautiful & holy feast and two, I wanted to bump down that photo of my feet a bit.

Who blogs about dieting right before Christmas, for goodness sake? I do, apparently. Cheer up, though! Next week I’m not going to blog about diets. Next week I’m going to blog about sex.

Lucky you.

I call it “The Gift of the Magi for Modern Wives.”

And please don’t be scandalized that I should speak of such things because—Hello?!— take a good long look at those children of yours. They’re amazing, aren’t they? Well, how did they get here? Whose plan was it?

Our Mother Mary, too, was a part of that plan…long ago when she was conceived in the womb of St. Anne. I am thinking about God’s plan today—and about how Our Lady can help us where we need it the most…in our marriage, and in our beds. (Hint: Have you been too busy this Advent for your husband? Rethink your plan. Ask Mary to help you.)

God love you all! Have a blessed and beautiful feast with your families.

You could combine both dieting and sex posts…just think…the extra calories from that one glass of wine are burned up doing that extra Advent duty! 😉

I love your feet (and the pj's or whatever the pants were you were wearing…too cute!).

Dieting AND sex….wow! Margaret. I'm glad you deciding to come back after your little break. Will be looking forward to next week!! Happy Holy Day!

Is it any wonder why we keep coming back, checking daily, even when you go "dark" – We are never disappointed as you always keep us guessing, laughing, crying, pondering, searching – You are the complete package ma'am!

I can't wait to learn about sex! I think the diet goes with it. I've found that even though I'm not thinner, I'm much more…ahem…loving when I'm not bloated and moody from bad food choices.

I am with Jamie Jo! (And to all those that say certain "ahem" things will bring on labor – my husband and I just looked at each other the day when discussing that exact topic and we are just baffled at the ummm…logistics that would be required for that to happen!)

So, no, I will stick to eating spicy foods and drinking water and walking, thank you very much!! But my husband was very happy to know that the 6 week moratorium after birth would end right about Valentine's day. I am trying to think about something special for us to do the weekend around there.
