A Little Girl, a Special Day, and the Winners!

October 12, 2011 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Give-Aways, Minnesota Me, My Girls, Special Events 6 Comments

So what would you like to read about first: the little girl and her special day, or the winners of the blog giveaway?

(It could be the name of a business!)

Well, aren’t you sweet. Aren’t you selfless!

Because Angela’s birthday fell on a weekday this year, she had to put up with a lot of chasing around town. Between one brother’s trip to the orthodontist and another brother’s cross country meet, she spent a lot of time in that big ol’ van…

…but she did so with pluck and a fair share of bling.

(The corn dog at lunch also helped tremendously, as did the promised end-of-day visit to Chuck E. Cheese Pizza.)

In addition to all the brother stuff, she got to light a candle at a local church and prayed outside Regions Hospital as part of the Twin Cities 40 Days for Life.

It’s good to be thankful for the gift of life, especially on one’s birthday.

It seems fitting somehow.

She was also thrilled to death with all the birthday greetings and would like to thank you, especially, for your prayers and blessings. Well, I had to remind her to thank you for all the prayers and blessings…

Bling (and lots of it) for the Birthday Girl!

…but she’s only seven, after all, and that will come in time.

Now then.

Moving on (finally) to the winners of the blog giveaway!

I used Random.Org to pick the three names. The winner of Keeping Company with Jesus and Mary by Karen Edmisten is, coincidentally, another Karen!

Blog Winner I

The winner of the rosary CD is RealMom4Life…

Blog Winner II

…and the winner of the handcrafted rosary is Katie!

Blog Winner III

Please email me your addresses, ladies, and I will get you your prizes ASAP.

To the rest of you, I’m sorry that you didn’t win this time! Still, you know what they say: “If at first you don’t succeed…”

“Stay close to Mary and you will, every time.”

Happy Feast of Our Lady of the Pillar!

She's looking more and more like her oldest sister as she grows up! In that first picture, I almost thought she was Cate!

    Well isn't that the truth!

Happy belated bday to your Angela 🙂

Love the corn dog. That would have been my perfect meal at the age of 7 also!

Thankful for life. Thankful for kids. Thankful for you all praying for the end of abortion.
