Overthinging the Process

August 19, 2011 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Hearth & Home, Minnesota Me 4 Comments

The following exchange took place in our basement this morning as we were tidying up embarking upon a massive archaeological dig.

“Hey, I remember this thing!” This was my son, distracted (shockingly) from the task at hand.

“We have lots of things. That’s the thing.” This was me, more focused (not shockingly) than my son, though certainly not more eloquent.

And so the sorting, sweeping and cleaning continues, all in the crazy name of going “Back to School.”

You might even accuse me of overworking my kids.

I say I overthinged them.

We have lots of things too.I have been cleaning out, reorganizing and cringing at all the stuff I bought over the years to teach the kids and never used. I think I need to get back to basics….a piece of chalk and a black board. That's all I need right?

My house is currently "under construction" of a kitchen makeover…TOO MANY THINGS. Sadly, I have alove for country clutter…I just don't like to dust it all :p
AND, I haven't even ordered this year's school materials yet…eeek
