Food for Thought

June 25, 2011 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Minnesota Me, Motherhood, Spiritual Growth, Toddler George 6 Comments

“Fully 95 percent of your emotions, positive or negative, are determined by how you talk to yourself on a minute-to-minute basis. It is not what happens to you but the way that you interpret the things that are happening to you that determines how you feel.

“To keep yourself motivated, you must resolve to become a complete optimist. You must determine to respond positively to the words, actions, and reactions of the people and situations around you. You must refuse to let the unavoidable difficulties and setbacks of daily life affect your mood or emotions.

“Look for the good in every situation.”

–from Eat That Frog! by Brian Tracy

And on that note, have a extra-great weekend, everyone!

PS. Oh, and here’s an update on my “Neeners”, who is being weaned against his will. We are down to just one feeding a day when he first gets up and he is being such a trooper! He sighs a lot, and tugs at my shirt a lot, but seems reconciled to this new independence.

Plus I gave him a sip of cold Coke last night, as per the birthday girl’s suggestion, and that seemed to help his mood tremendously.

(I left out the rum that I was putting in mine. ; )

Thanks for that food for thought. Had a rough time getting out of town today and almost went back. Sigh. Will keep that good advice in mind for the remainder of the day. 🙂

    Love to Neeners.

Great quote! And that son of yours – seriously soooo cute. 🙂

And you – maybe it was the quote, or maybe it is just you, how you make us feel when we visit you here, but have you notied how the three of us have ended our comments with a smile? 🙂
