On Being One (Part II)

May 25, 2010 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Growing Up, Minnesota Me, New Baby 7 Comments

So yeah. I’m definitely more comfortable with crawling at this point.

Crawler II

Hey, everybody’s different! Mom says that my brother Joe was walking by his first birthday and so was my sister Cate.

Crawler I

The rest of my siblings, though? Slackers all, like me!

In fact, my sister Felicity had a nickname. Mom and Dad called her “the paperweight” because wherever you sat her, there she stayed.

Crawler III

She’s always been reliable, that one.

And anyway, Mom says that she gets a kick out of my crawling.

Crawler IV

I crawl like a crab, she says.

Crabby but determined!

That’s me.

(Plus it saves wear and tear on those knees. Learned that one the hard way.)

What a sweetheart — I love all that sweet bare skin! I had a paperweight, also — number 2 — and he was happy wherever we put him. But, I never had one that crab-crawled. Too funny!

What a cutie-patootie! One of my twins didn't walk until he was 19 months old. Just as we were going to take him to be evaluated, he started walking. He liked to scoot around on his bottom. You wouldn't know now that he was a late walker!

    He's so adorable!!!

Connor was just a few days over age 1 before walking. Rachel was ten months . . . she's always been ahead of her time, that one. Christian was about eleven months . . . he wasn't having any of that being left behind stuff. No way Jose! 😉

Alex is doing a crawl where half is crawl and half is crab walk! Too cute!

I love the crab crawl! He is adorable.

Ben doesn't like being on his knees much either and often does a semi-crab where only one knee hits the floor. He changes off as to which one he favors.

Too sweet Little Anthony. I'm betting your mom is just fine with the crawling…hate to see you grow up too fast and take off when you do start that walking.
