One of the things that I love about staying home with my children—and there are many—is that I can drop everything and bake when my children ask me to.
Drop Everything and Bake.
This is also known as DEAB and is not to be confused with the DEAR in Ramona Quimby’s classroom. (That stands for Drop Everything and Read, and we’ve been known to do that too. As have you, I’m certain.)
Anyway, yes, we love to bake and are especially fond of the scones in this photo. They are maple pecan scones and can be found in—where else?—the Pioneer Woman’s new cookbook.
I’ll include the recipe for you here, though, just ‘cause I’m so sweet.
And ‘cause I want you to drop everything and bake, too.
Those sound (and look) really good. All during Lent I was dreaming about scones with homemade lemon curd. I have never made lemon curd before, but I saw a recipe and wanted to try it. However, now that Lent is over, I can't find the recipe and I don't remember where I saw it! I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to google it… Happy Easter Season to you!
Sounds like fun. I must be one fuddy duddy mom. The concept of dropping everything to bake sounds much more fun than the "drudgery" of school, especially when the kids are whiney.
I have to laugh, because those look like what we in New Zealand call biscuits, which is what you in America call our scones!
Oh those look so GOOD!!!
I wasn't going to comment, just read the comments, but the word verification is "lardo" which is precisely why I'm scared to try these scones. 'Cause I don't want to become a "lardo".
Those look absolutely scrumptious. I wonder if I can use gluten free flour in that recipe?
Oh, fine, just keep rubbing it in that you have that awesome cookbook that I have been drooling over forever.;)
It was a bad decision for this pregnant woman to read that post. Those look so yummy! But I'm certain my husband won't DEAB.
I made these this afternoon! They are wonderfully crumbly and scrumptious. Definitely one to add to my baking list. And, I suggested to hubby … as he yummed & raved … that a great Mother's Day gift would be the cookbook in which you found the recipe.
