Morning Routine

March 15, 2010 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Homeschooling, Minnesota Me Leave a Comment

Who am I kidding with that title?

It’s the first Monday of Daylight Savings Time. All routines were off this morning! Should you have stopped by at…oh…the ripe old hour of 9:00 a.m., you would not have found my children’s heads bent studiously over their Latin, Phonics, Spelling or Math.

You would, however, have found them in the sink.

DST I

One of them, anyway.

(Please excuse the cluttered counters. That’s what you get for coming by unannounced.)

DST II

This particular child had eaten countless frozen blueberries for breakfast. That was how I stalled for time, you see, and got my 20-minute workout in. Hello, Jillian; goodbye, clean kid & stain-free baby jammies!

(Please don’t envy my morning workout. I am currently averaging one a month, which is no way to shred those extra pounds.)

DST V

The child in the bath was quickly joined by the preschooler on the stool.

DST VI

Because, you know, if you fill it with water they will come.

DST VII

Other children spent many a leisurely moment with their book of choice.

DST VIII

Because, you know, if you fill it with cereal and milk they will come.

Eventually we did get around to the Math and the Latin.

DST III

We just made sure we were diapered first.

Happy First Monday of Daylight Savings! If you need me, I’ll be napping.
