…when I stepped out of my bedroom after wrapping presents last night.
Not a creature was stirring! Not even her ears.
This is what I saw when I turned around and looked in the classroom.
Okay, so obviously some creatures were stirring.
These two are not so much boys as they are bear cubs.
I mean, really. Could you take it outdoors?
It’s a good thing Joe’s keeping one eye on Anthony like I told him.
Sigh. I’m going to go wrap some more presents now.
And maybe make another coffee.
And maybe bake another batch of cookies.
And maybe mail a couple of packages.
And maybe work on our Christmas newsletter some more.
I’m sure I can find something to do.
Speaking of which, how in the world have you all been? I mean, goodness. I know that you’ve been busy and all but heck if you haven’t been reticent.
I’ll leave you with one last Angeladote. I know you like those.
Yesterday she came sidling up to her big brother and whispered conspiratorially, “I saw what you’re getting for Christmas…”
The little stink. Apparently she had been stirring too! Outside my bedroom!
She leaned closer to her brother and then she told him.
“It’s a box.”
Happy night before the night before Christmas, dear Internet friend! I hope you’re well.
Scratch that.
I hope you’re giddy.

How cute! I can still remember noting my mother's bedroom door LOCKED this time of year … she never had a need to lock it (so I thought).
I do my wrapping when all is sleeping which explains why I am so, SO tired this morning.
Merry Christmas to you …

No white Christmas here in lovely Florida, but still giddy all the same. Wishing you and yours a merry and blessed Christmas, Margaret.

Well, I would like to know what you decided to get your older boys as mine will be those ages in 2 years time.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a Blessed New Year!

I'm definitely giddy! We're leaving this afternoon for my in-laws' near Baltimore, where they have significant snow on the ground (we saw a few flakes last Friday, here in central NC). I'm excited to play in the snow, but mostly to see the fam, especially DH's baby sis who has been living on the west coast for a while and I haven't seen her for two whole Christmases! His oldest sis has a new baby, too. Merry Christmas to your family, Margaret, and thank you for the company your blog has given me this past year.

There's a book in what Angela says. It'll make you millions!

I am just glad to see your boy cubs in much the same position(s) as mine are these days. Must be a rite of passage…
🙂
Merry Christmas, dear friend! I have baking and wrapping and a wee bit of shopping to do.
And yes, I am giddy.
🙂

oh boys – they are a different breed aren't they?
so says I as my son climbed onto a friend's (not very sturdy from ikea) coffee table over and over last night at dinner, while they – parents of the same age of a GIRL – looked on in mild amusement slash consternation.
just you wait i said – you're having a boy and they're crazy! (they're pregnant now!)
a different breed indeed! but such fun too 🙂

Those boys! They are true boys, for sure.
I hope your son enjoys the box! 😉 What a stinker that Angela is! She knows it all, doesn't she?
Wish I could join your giddy-ness. I mean, I'm almost there. It is my FAVORITE time of year…but….the approaching snowstorm is putting a bit of a damper on things. Snow and I are not friends (I know, what am I doing living here??!!) and will keep us from where I really want to be, with my parents. A cozy Christmas at home would be nice too, but just the four of us just isn't the same.
We'll see. Okay, I'll stop dampering your giddy spirit now. 🙂
Peace and Blessings to you and your household this Christmas, dear Margaret.
Jenny says
Lots of presents to wrap here, but I thought I'd stop in and say 'hi' and that I am giddy too!
Diane says
Not giddy. More like delirious.
Pray for me. I'm praying for you.

Now picture my one boy wrestling like that with the girls, who want to wrestle for like…1 minute, when they start screaming…poor boy! Really, your boys are blessed to be able to wrestle like cubs!
boy, Anthony looks like he's ready to take off!!! SO cute!
We've found out that Clare, our 5 year old, can NOT keep a secret and tells a lot more than just that it's a "box"! Also that our boy, who is the oldest and therefore the most patient and responsible, right? Well…he asks many, many times per day if he can just open "one present"…the one that Clare told him, since he already knows what it is!! He can't stand that there are presents in there under the tree just waiting for him, it's soooo funny and gives me an opportunity to talk about how Mary felt waiting for Jesus to come.
Thanks for the great real pictures, they made my day!
God bless, happy stressing these last few hours!

Look at Anthony rolling about!!!
So far I'm still able to get all my wrapping done on Christmas Eve after all go to bed. So that's my plan.
We ventured to the grocery store today to pick up items for our Christmas Eve feast and for our Christmas Day family potluck. It was a madhouse. But I only lost my temper once. And I got many sympathetic comments and even a "Bless You" from an older woman.
Not quite giddy yet but working up to it. So happy we'll have a white Christmas this year.
God bless you and Merry Christmas, Margaret.

I'm a perennial lurker as is but lately I've had excuses. I'm helping my Mom get ready for Christmas AND my little sister's baptism on the 27th! (She's three, but we only adopted her last month. We're deheathenizing her as fast as we can.) To make things even more interesting, my dad's coworkers keep sending home baptism presents and the Little Princess thinks that they're Christmas presents. Actually, she thinks she should open them now. We had them under the tree for a day or two, but she would keep touching them ("I jus wooking!"), so now they're on top of the bookcase in the living room.
How's that for a random combox anecdote?

Looks like my house –for the last 20 years! Seriously, how many times do I have to say "Take it outside!"??
Merry (almost) Christmas my dear!

My middle daughter (before she started to read) told my husband one year, "I know what you're getting for your birthday." He eagerly asked what. She replied, "A book." The look on his face was priceless (we always get him a book).

Love the Angeladote's, you should write a little book so you can pass it on to her for her children…

Giddy indeed! Love the action photos! Kids (ok, I'll be honest, adults, too) are acting much the same way.
Our famous line today was when we were making cookies. My 6yr old son's egg missed the bowl and splatted on the island. He says, "My egg just jumped out of the bowl!" I told him it must be giddy too!
Is that possible??
Have a Blessed Christmas!
