When we weren’t planning for, preparing for and/or actually celebrating our two birthday girls this weekend, (photo-laden post to follow), we were auditioning for a part in an upcoming play.
Jem & Cate were auditioning, that is.*
The rest of us were waiting.
From 1:00 to 5:00 on Saturday afternoon we waited. That’s prime weekend real estate, but we gave it up.
Because that’s the kind of supportive crew we are.
Supportive and sleepy.
Anthony was smart and planned ahead. He brought his own Snuggie with him.
(I wanted to join him but he said no.)
(So I amused myself in other ways.)
Three things are certain in this blogging mommy’s life: death, taxes and being outgrown (eventually) by my friends’ children.
Yes, it’s true. I’m vertically challenged.
I blame it on all that waiting.
Ed. Note: We found out on Saturday night that Jem got a part but Cate did not. That’s show biz, unfortunately! None of the 9-year-olds made it and she took some small consolation in that. (The play, by the way, is Anne of Green Gables. Should be fun!)

I have one son who is passing all my friends by, and me too.
He's 12, and pushing 5'11".
Anne of Green Gables should be a lot of fun to do!

What a sweet little teddy bear you have sleeping there!

You're such a great writer, Margaret! You even write about WAITING with flair! Congrats to your son for getting a part. Even more congrats to your daughter for taking the bad news so well. I'm sure that was hard …

Good play! I was Anne when we did Anne of Green Gables in 6th grade. Oh the sweet memories!
